ALLOWING GOD TO LIVE IN YOU

“And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light ‘day,’ and the darkness he called ‘night.’ And there was evening, and there was morning — the first day.”

Genesis 1:3-5

Although the Holy Spirit works with all the divine power, He never acts of his own accord. Rather, He always waits for the word that comes from God the Father. After the Father finished every last detail of creation, the divine word moved into action. For example, when God said, “Let there be light,” the Bible tells us that straight away, “there was light” (Genesis 1:3). This creative word from God is, in fact, Jesus Christ himself. The Apostle John wrote, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made… The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:1-3-14).

The Father designs and the Holy Spirit moves, waiting for the divine declaration to act. In His Word, all of God’s power is released. This is why the miracle of creation took place. Everything that was unappealing and dark was transformed into something beautiful, usable by God and fruitful. God has not changed! Just as He acted in creation, so, through faith, He operates in every situation that we have to live through.

Peter the Apostle said: “Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires” (2 Peter 1:4). The Bible offers us the ability to believe in the redeeming work of the Lord Jesus Christ, which makes us children of God. The Apostle Peter affirmed that we are participants of God’s nature. Therefore, if the Father designs, so can you because your faith equips you to conceive things in the same way that God does. Believe that your gloomy situation can be transformed through faith into something that is beautiful, usable by God and fruitful. Once you have been able to imagine the desired design in your mind, you can present it to the Holy Spirit, who moves in the midst of the chaos of your problems. Then, you simply confess His Word, which is what releases all of God’s power. We are God’s instruments to change our own destiny, the destiny of those we most care for and indeed, the destiny of our nation. We accomplish this through speaking out God’s Word in the right way, which is alive and active.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
Dr Cho was 40 years old when he thought it would be better to continue with his studies, which he had left to tend to the ministry. He was thinking in his mind that he could eventually become a scholar. During a time of prayer, he heard God say to him, “You are now more than 40 years old. I want you to dedicate the rest of your life to being a pastor. I don’t want you to be a scholar or a doctor. You are a pastor therefore, dedicate yourself soley to the ministry. Study the Bible with diligence so that you can take good care of the flock that I have entrusted to you. That is your duty.” The results of his obedience can be seen by the great fruit of his ministry; he now has the largest church in the world located in Seoul, Korea. We all find ourselves facing two doors, just as the Lord Jesus taught when he said, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it” (Matthew 7:13-14). When someone finds their place in the body of Christ and stays “faithful to the call, they will become a channel of blessing to many. When someone allows the trivial things of this world to cause them to lose focus, they may regret it for all eternity. Let us learn to wait on God to hear His voice and be guided by His Word.
