Before starting with the International Charismatic Mission, I worked part-time in the ministry, and part time in the secular world. During these days, there came a time when the ‘doors’ of finance closed on me. Even though I would leave very early to get to work and come home very late at night, I was increasingly failing to keep up with all my financial commitments. I remember one day in particular, when I came to work, ready to conquer, but it ended up being one of the worst days of my life. All the doors of financial provision were shut in my face. I received not a cent and I got home feeling fed-up and defeated. My hope faded and turned into despair. I greeted my wife and I went to the corner to pray to God. However, when I opened my mouth to express what I felt and thought, divine hope came into my life. I was just looking at the circumstances from a human perspective. This is how the hope of God came to me, He spoke saying, “For I will truly bless you in a way that you will be amazed. For you will say to me, ‘Enough!’” It was a voice that came from above, a voice that shook my heart. There was no shadow of doubt that God had spoken to me. When I got back up, because I was on my knees, any hope from a mere human perspective was gone. I did not look at the circumstances from that viewpoint anymore. I could see with the eyes of God. Very excitedly, I approached my wife and said, “My love we are prosperous.” She looked at me and asked, “How?” “God spoke to me,” I said. She replied, “Amen, my love. If God has spoken, He will do it.”
The next day God sent the provision in a supernatural way. He sent it, neither by a job I had done, nor by my own means, but it was a divine intervention. From that moment, the hand of God has never stopped blessing us. Today you should stand firm against mere human hope that has turned to desperation in the flesh, and firmly believe that God will, in a supernatural way, provide the oasis in your desert.
While on earth, Jesus was always a great example of how to handle finances and resources. One day He said to Peter, “But so that we may not offend them, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours” (Matthew 17:27). Today, God creates a source of blessing for you and your family. He longs for you to be a person with a great testimony in the area of your finances. Put your faith into action and see the miracle that you need become a reality!
SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
A cartoonist that was born in Kansas City started to offer his work to the editors of different publishing establishments, sending his work all over the country. Upon seeing his work they would tell him things like, “It’s best if you give yourself to something else,” “There’s no future for you in this line of work,” “There’s no prospect for you; what you’re offering isn’t what the public wants or appreciates.” One day, he arrived at a Baptist Church and the pastor saw his drawings. As a friendly gesture he told the pastor he would do some illustrations for him. He also told him that he needed a place to work on his drawings. So the pastor offered the only place he had available. It was a room that was filled with rats and the man had to clean it up himself. There, he established his office and there he was inspired by those same rats! So he started to work. From that place, one of the biggest entertainment businesses in the world was born. This man is well known to us all as Walt Disney!
