GOD’S GARDEN IS FOR YOU

02_17

“Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed.”

Genesis 2:8

If you knew that there was a way for human beings to go back to the garden of Eden where humanity began, what would you do? It is interesting to see that when God put Adam in the garden, it was because He wanted to give him the best. Not only did God give Adam the best, but He also provided more than enough for his needs, by supplying ample resources for the generations to come. However, when we see the reality of where our countries are at and the difficult financial battles we face, we can feel that paradise is something that is forbidden and far away. We often don’t believe that there is such a thing as complete happiness. If you are thinking this way, allow me to confirm that you are right. Everyone who has not exchanged his or her DNA with Christ’s will not be able to find paradise.

The fruit of one tree caused man to forfeit that place of paradise. In the same way, the fruit of another tree allows man to return to paradise. In the middle of abundance, man took the forbidden fruit, and this totally destroyed him. On the other hand, in the midst of scarcity, man can take the right fruit to live in abundance. I think that you already know which tree I am referring to. It is the tree that was planted in a small, unpopulated mountain, Mount Calvary. The fruit of that tree is Jesus, who decided to take our place and give His life for ours.

The Cross of Christ became the only means available for us to return to the garden of God. Just as Adam suffered the consequences of spiritual death when he ate the forbidden fruit, if we eat the fruit of the Cross, we also, will be dying to sin. This will change our nature. With this new nature we will be able to return to the garden of divine blessing. As Paul said in 1 Corinthians 2:9, there are things that are so wonderful that no eye has ever seen them, neither has any ear heard of them. There are things that God has prepared for those who love Him. Paul also said, “God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3b). You have to decide if you will receive the blessings that God has for His children in the garden.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
Allow me to share with you a part of a poem I wrote to my wife:
“You are a garden locked up, my sister, my bride; you are a spring enclosed, a sealed fountain.” (Song of Solomon 4:12). The same way the Lord put the first man in the garden of Eden, the Lord blessed me by placing me at your side; you are my garden of blessing, and it is completely protected, because the same cherubs that camp around it with swords of fire in their hands protect it. I know that my responsibility is to cultivate that beautiful and lovely garden, for I know that it will be a result of of the work I have put into it; this is why I strive to cultivate you with my words, with my attitudes, with my caresses and my love. I carefully sow the best things in you, so you always have good memories of me; and so that in the last day, when the Lord looks at that garden, He may see it as the most beautiful of all, that it surpasses the rest. I have found in you the best fruits, the sweetest, there are great riches in you, and you are like a blessed garden fenced in by the Lord Himself.
