PROSPERITY AND CONQUEST

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!”

Revelation 5:12

When Adam sinned, the Lord pronounced the word “curse” for the first time. The curse is on the ground. He said, “Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life. It will produce thorns and thistles for you…” (Genesis 3:17b-18a). The curse would be represented through thorns and thistles. After Jesus was baptized, the heavens opened, the Spirit of God came to rest upon Him and He had to face Satan in the desert. Satan offered Him a crown, the same one he took from Adam after he sinned, and he told Him, “You have come for this crown. I offer it to You; it can be Yours with everything it represents: power, glory, fame, wealth, etc. The only thing You will have to do is bow down and worship me.” Jesus replied, “Away from Me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only’” (Matthew 4:10). Jesus knew this was not the way to regain the crown, it had to be done with the shedding of His Blood.

After having been betrayed, Jesus was unfairly condemned; then, to mock Him even further, the devil put a crown of thorns on His head. When the thorns went through His brow and blood flowed from His head, those drops touched the earth. It’s like that Blood then became a rope reaching the hands of the enemy to take back the crown he had in his control. It was the same one he had offered to Jesus, which at one time had belonged to Adam, but now the Lord was legitimately recovering it.

In the vision he had, John was able to see what happened in the spiritual realm, where the four living beings and the twenty four elders, in their worship, sang a song of victory saying, “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because You were slain, and with Your blood You purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a Kingdom of priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth. Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” (Revelation 5: 9-10,12).

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
Dr. Norman Vincent Peale told a story about something that happened during the Great Depression in the United States, when all the businesses were going broke. A man had a store where he sold hamburgers and sandwiches, and it was the only one that had not gone broke. The place was always full of customers. In this way, he was able to send his son to college in another city. One day, the young man went to visit his father, and told him, “Dad, I do not understand what is happening; every other business has gone bankrupt and yours has not. Are you not aware that there is a crisis?” Because the father had bad eyesight, he couldn’t read the newspapers. Because he was somewhat deaf, he couldn’t hear the news; so he didn’t know everything that was happening in the city. He followed his son’s advice and shrank the burgers and made the sandwiches smaller. The son went away to continue with his studies, and six months later he returned, but there was no business anymore, it had fallen into bankruptcy. If you believe everything that others say, you will behave like them. If you believe the promises of the Word of God, you will live confidently. The Apostle Paul said, “My God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).
