RECEIVING THE BREATH OF LIFE

“And the words of the LORD are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible, like gold refined seven times.”

Psalm 12:6

If we allow the Word of God to richly dwell in us, then our lips will flow with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. There will no longer be room for words of defeat, failure, fear or complaint. The word of victory will be confessed all the time. This attitude will take us to a higher dimension of faith, and we will begin to see life from God’s perspective. We will face even the impossible with the view to conquer in the name of the Lord.

It has been said that John Knox, a preacher during the time of the Reformation in Scotland, infused more courage in the hearts of his audience than ten thousand trumpets sounding in their ears, with his voice alone.”

The Apostle Peter said, “We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit” (2 Peter 1:19-21). In his first epistle, he also wrote, “but the word of the Lord endures forever. And this is the word that was preached to you” (1 Peter 1:25).

If the Word of God has not changed you, it is because you have not received it with the right attitude. Think about this and make a decision to allow the Word of God to transform every area of your life that needs changing. The prophet Jeremiah said, “When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, Lord God Almighty” (Jeremiah 15:16). Although the word produced much joy in the heart of the prophet, God later revealed to him the power of the word, “Is not my word like fire,’ declares the Lord, ‘and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces” (Jeremiah 23:29).

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
There is a story told about King James V of Scotland. He used to disguise himself as a humble man and travel around the country. The population was completely oblivious to the fact that he was actually the King, and so he was able to make friends with the ordinary people of his country. By doing this, he was able to truly discover their needs, the trials they were experiencing and all the difficulties they had to face. When he returnd to his throne he would reign with a compassionate heart, just like a father. In this same way, God came to earth when Jesus Christ became a human being. He came in order to understand us and to truly know every one our needs, by becoming a human just like us.
