THE POWER OF THE SPOKEN WORD

02_21

“As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: it will not return empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”

Isaiah 55:10-11

Every word that comes from God’s mouth has power and authority. In the same way, when we make a declaration or a confession, it is an expression of our faith. The Lord, through the prophet Isaiah, uses the example of rain. He said in the same way that it falls from the sky and waters the ground, so that seeds yield fruit for the one who sowed them and bread to the eater, so is the Word that comes from the mouth of God. It will not return to Him empty, but will accomplish everything He wants it to and will achieve the purpose for which He sent it. The Word of God is a messenger that cannot return until it has fulfilled His mission.

When you make a confession, it becomes a decree. You can confess your dreams. All you have to do is say what you believe and desire. As you confess it, you are activating the spiritual realm.

In the same way, if someone speaks a negative word, that word activates the demonic spiritual realm. This allows the demonic powers to follow you, so that everything you are saying comes to pass. On the other hand, if you declare the promises of God, you activate the angelic realm that will come to your aide so that you can reach everything you desire in your heart. Solomon said, “…you have been trapped by what you said, ensnared by the words of your mouth” (Proverbs 6:2). The sort of declarations you make will be reflected in your life, whether it is a positive word or a negative word. Decide to speak words that build you up and strengthen your faith in God.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
A man called Ruben shared with us the following experience: “My father-in-law, Jorge Zambrano, underwent heart surgery on the 27th of December 2010, at seven in the morning. After four hours of surgery and four coronary bypasses carried out by putting veins from different parts of the body in his heart, the results were satisfactory. However, the next day one of the grafts split and, though they tried to repair it, they had to operate on him again. As a result, my 73-year-old father-in-law was connected to nine different machines. The diagnosis was very negative. His heart, kidneys, and lungs were not responding, and the swelling was increasing across his body. I was living in Miami at the time. At about six in the evening I was filled with a huge sense of sadness in my heart at the thought of my father-in-law dying. I cried out to the Lord and asked Him to give me a specific word and He led me to Philippians 2:26, 27. This word confirmed for me that Jorge would not die. At midnight we saw a slight improvement in his condition and his heart began to strengthen. I traveled to Colombia with my wife to see him, and when we arrived at the intensive care unit, he was able to recognize us both. On Monday they transferred him to another room and by Thursday he had recovered 85% of his mental ability. While speaking to him during his recovery, he told us that in a certain moment while he was in a very critical state, he saw a person far away approach him and say, “No, I am Jesus, everything is okay, go back.” I know that the power of resurrection and life, due to prayer, brought life back to my father-in-law. The Lord brought him back from the brink of death.” (Ruben Lasso)
