“For the Word of God is alive and active…”
Hebrews 4:12a
The Word of God has authority because it is alive and active. When it is declared in faith, it produces life. The two Greek concepts associated with “word” are: logos and rhema. “Logos” is equivalent to the theoretical definition of an idea, or in this case it refers to the written content of the word. The seed that is not sown would be logos. A person can hear or read the Word of God, but decide that it is not for them. They see this process as an opportunity to acquire general exposure and knowledge about some very interesting historical facts, but never anything more. A person who has this attitude has decided to keep the logos, or the mere intellectual concept of the Word of God. In other words, this is a seed that has not been truly sown. It has reached the human mind but not the heart; consequently the seed would be unfruitful in this person’s life. “Rhema,” on the other hand, represents the practical aspect of the Word, which is the step that puts a concept that was learned into action. Going back to the example of the seed, with the rhema, I’m referring to the seed that by faith is sown into your heart and gives abundant life.
Let’s imagine a farmer who owns a vast field but has nothing to eat because nothing was actually sown into the ground. Nevertheless, going into his barn, he discovers that he has an abundance of seeds. So, he gets on his knees and prays to the Lord, “Make a miracle happen and allow my land to produce abundant fruit.” Surely, you would think that the best thing for him to do would be to take time to plant those seeds. This way in the coming months, he can count on his land to produce a harvest. Just like that farmer, many believers do the same thing with the Word of God. They get on their knees with their Bible in hand and open it up to one of their favorite Psalms all the while praying to God, “Make my life fruitful according to Your Word.” However, their lives remain barren because they have not allowed the seed to be sown deep within their hearts, where it can activate growth.
Heraclitus, the Philosopher from Ephesus (560 b.c.), believed that all things are in a constant state of motion. He said that if everything is moving all the time, how come there is no chaos around us? The answer to his question was that everything that exists is the expression of divine logos. Everything that happens is because of Logos, it is the judge and truth. Logos is not somehow inferior to God’s mind. His mind holds together this world and every human being. Philo, a Jewish Philosopher from Alexandria said that Logos was the oldest thing that ever existed, and it was the instrument through which God created the world, “a governing plan”. He used to say that Logos is the intermediary between the world and God, between what has been created, and what has not been created; it is the priest that represents the soul before God. A person will never bear true fruit if they only understand the conceptual meaning of God’s Word. It is necessary to go from the Logos, to the dimension of the Rhema word, in order to enter into the true experience of the Word of God.

Penny, the owner of the chain of stores bearing his name and a God-fearing Christian, said, “Show me a laborer with a vision, and I will show you a man that can change history.” Great achievements come through ordinary people who are prepared for spiritual things. God desires for you to have a clear vision. His vision has never been complicated. Therefore, God gave us the G12 Vision, a Vision that is being adopted throughout the entire world.
