WHO IS OUR FIGHT AGAINST?

“Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”

Ephesians 6:13

Here the Apostle Paul is addressing every believer, those who have already experienced new birth. He warns them to “put on the full armor of God.” Why do we need to put on the armor of a warrior? Paul explains that we are living in the middle of an open war against evil spiritual forces. Behind the visible realm that we can see with our physical eyes, there are invisible forces that are just as real. Paul describes them as rulers, authorities, powers of darkness, and spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. They are spiritual beings. We need to understand that both God’s kingdom and Satan’s dominion belong to the invisible realm. God has His own heavenly army formed by angels, archangels, seraphs, and cherubs. Satan, who is always trying to imitate God, has his own demonic forces that are organized as I mentioned above.

You have to understand that Satan is an evil spirit and that evil began with him. Evil is not tangible, but originated in the Adversary whose main goal is to contaminate the majority of people in order to exercise control over their lives, to enslave them, and finally to destroy them. The Lord Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10).

On one side, we find the reign of God, who wants only to give you His life in abundance. On the other side, we find the reign of the adversary who wants only to steal your happiness, your peace and your health. He longs to kill the harmony in your family, to mix up your future, and to destroy you.

God’s abundant life comes to you when you open your heart to Jesus, and let Him be the Lord over your life. When you believe His powerful blood reaches every area of your life, this will allow the anointing of the Holy Spirit to break any bondage over your life.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
It is said that on a certain occasion, the Apostle John became very angry with the Adversary because he made one of the best young men in the community fall away from God. He determined to confront the enemy in order to ask him, “Why did you set your sights on this guy who was such a good person and so devoted to the things of God?” The enemy replied, “It is because he entered my territory.” We can only enter the enemy’s territory through the power of the blood of Jesus.
