Today’s Bible Verse
“We can all draw close to him with the veil removed from our faces. And with no veil we all become like mirrors who brightly reflect the glory of the Lord Jesus. We are being transfigured into his very image as we move from one brighter level of glory to another. And this glorious transfiguration comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
2 Corinthians 3:18 (TPT)
Visualize and Dream Again
How many times have you been in a car, whether you were the driver or a passenger, and thought or said out loud, “open your eyes” or “get glasses”? Maybe none of you, but I have definitely had these thoughts come up every now and then. In 2 Corinthians 3, Paul is helping us understand an important key that helps us break small and seize this marvelous life God has called us to, which is found as we draw close to Him, every day!
Breaking small means breaking limitations, arguments, and challenges that often cloud our minds, cloud our perspectives, and make us feel like we can’t conquer or overcome. The feeling of giving up, settling, and maintaining leads many to stop dreaming or even stops us from setting goals to conquer.
Pastor Cesar Castellanos says that “visions and dreams are the language of the Holy Spirit.” Yet, oftentimes we have a hard time dreaming and visualizing. So, when God gives us a promise or a dream, we struggle to believe that it will actually come to pass. Often, we are excited about it, but circumstances arise, goals aren’t reached, and the enemy comes in to try to hold us back from holding on to the promise. Oftentimes, we give up, quit, pull back, feed the arguments, and believe those negative thoughts.
In this passage, Paul is helping us to see what it takes to Seize Life and what it takes to break small. It requires the right kind of visualization. We must visualize the promise God has given us and dream again. It is so easy to feed or give in to failure or defeat, but when we have the right kind of visualization, the veil is removed. The struggle is removed, and the arguments are removed. God clears our blurred vision. When this happens, Paul tells us that “we all become like mirrors who brightly reflect the glory of the Lord Jesus.”
Can you imagine being a mirror of Jesus? A reflection of Jesus? This means we are transfigured into His very image. Transfiguration is what happens when we draw close to Him and renew our minds according to His Word and His promises.
God’s desire is for us to get out of our tent and dream, visualize, and hold on to His promises. Genesis 15:5 says, “Then the Lord took Abram outside and said to him, ‘Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That’s how many descendants you will have!’” As we draw closer to God in our daily quiet time with Him, our time in the Word, time in our Secret Place, and time in His Presence, He renews our mind. He restores our blurred vision, and there He shows us His dreams and visions. Yet, we must get “outside.”
We must get out of our “tents”! We must get out of our comfortability and familiarity and allow God to break small mindsets. We must forgive quickly, let go of arguments, humble ourselves before Him, and allow Him to lead us to a place of brokenness and transformation from the inside-out!! (Pastor Nicole Silva)
Seize the Moment
Every day is a new day to let go of veils that are holding us back. What are the veils or what have been some things that have been holding you back or blurring your vision? Take time to write them down and allow the Holy Spirit to open your heart.
Set Your Life
Now, let’s allow God to clear our blurred vision to embrace the right kind of visualization and dream again. Write down dreams and goals that God has been placing on your heart. Write down dreams that you may have forgotten or lost sight of—God, personal, family, ministry, school, and work. Let’s dream again!
Today’s Declaration
Lord, today as I draw closer to You, I ask You to renew my mind. Transform me from the inside out. Lord, show me areas in my life that I have been holding on to, veils that need to be removed. Awaken the vision and dream in me, and I declare that this day I embrace Your dreams and run with Your vision for my life!
