PLEASE EXCUSE MY STORY!

Today’s Bible Verse

Then Moses said to the Lord, “O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.”

Exodus 4:10 (NKJV)

Please Excuse My Story!

Have you ever met people who always have an excuse?  They had a reason why they were always late or why they couldn’t do what they said they would do.  Maybe like Moses, you have been asked to do something that required you to step out of your comfort zone.  And just like Moses, you had an excuse as to why you couldn’t do it.

I don’t have time.

I don’t have the ability.

I don’t think I’m the right person.

I’m not as eloquent, or I’m not as talented as him or her.

See, when the Lord was speaking to Moses, it was to change his story.  When Moses spoke to God, it was to excuse his story.  How many times has God been trying to talk to us about our story?   For many of us, He’s been trying to take us to a place where we surrender our story to embrace His.  Perhaps our excuses have been stopping the transformation we seek.  We want to be used by God, but we excuse ourselves from being used with reasons why we can’t be who He has called us to be.  Our excuses keep us cemented in our own story, but we need to break free!  I may not be able to do it, but God can!

Once Moses got out of the way and dealt with the arguments within him, he was able to answer the call that God had for him.  A call that would bring deliverance to the people of Israel.  It’s important to understand that this call had no room for excuses.  Are you ready to answer the call? Change My Story

Isaiah 6:8 says, “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”

Don’t excuse your story anymore!  Don’t give the adversary any room with your words.  Be like Isaiah who heard the voice of the Lord and responded with, “Here am I!  Send me.”  Because the One that sends you is also going with you!  Bind those excuses in the Name of Jesus and take back your right to His Story, to His plan over your life.  He is not done with you; He has JUST begun!

Today’s Declaration

Holy Spirit, I make a decision today to be completely dependent on You.  I will not allow my excuses to hinder my story any longer.  I surrender myself to what You are wanting to do with my life.  In the mighty Name of Jesus, Amen!
