You Are God’s Chosen Treasure

Hey Kids!

Do you own something that you love and treasure a lot? It could be a stuffed animal that you’ve had since you were a baby, or a pet animal, or something someone special gave to you, like a bracelet, or a football signed by your favorite football player, like Tua Tagavailoa, or even a piece of a spider web from Spiderman!  It’s could be something so very special and wonderful that it would be so sad if you lost it, right? 

Did you know that God loves you and treasures you more than that something you love and prize?  Yeah, that’s right!!!  It’s for real!!! God adores you and cherishes you more than anything.  He admires and loves you even if you make mistakes or even if you did something wrong.  His love for you is not because of anything you do or don’t do.  He just has such a SUPER DUPER, SUPER-SIZE LOVE for YOU!

He loves you so much that He carries your picture with Him wherever He goes.  He is so proud of you that He shows your picture to His angels and talks about you all the time.  He holds you close like a baby in His arms, cherishing you every second of the day! To God, you are worth more than all the money in the world, more than mountains of candy, or rivers full of chocolate, or a million buckets of ice cream!  You are so valuable to God!  You are priceless! You are on his list for his most favorite person in the whole wide world!  

He made you with his very hands and molded you into who you are. He knows how many hairs you have on your head, your arms, your legs, and even in your nose!  Ha, Ha!!  God is the one that gave you life!  Yeah, He has his eyes on you even before you were born and since you were born. 

You are special and set apart from the rest of the world for God.  Not to follow what the world or your friends do.  NO, you were made to stand out and stand up for God.  You belong to God.  He will use your voice to speak for Him and to tell everyone about Jesus and how much He loves them too!  When you know without any doubts or questions that you are God’s treasure, you can for sure tell everyone that they are God’s treasure too!  

This Week’s Pledge of Honor

I am God’s chosen treasure. I am reserved for God only and devoted to Him every day of my life. I belong to God to broadcast that Jesus is Lord!

PSALM 139:1 – 6 (ICB)

Lord, you have examined me. You know all about me.
You know when I sit down and when I get up.
You know my thoughts before I think them.
You know where I go and where I lie down. You know well everything I do.
Lord, even before I say a word, you already know what I am going to say.
You are all around me—in front and in back.
You have put your hand on me.
Your knowledge is amazing to me. It is more than I can understand.

Is there any place I can go to avoid your Spirit to be out of your sight?
If I climb to the sky, you’re there! If I go underground, you’re there!
If I flew on morning’s wings to the far western horizon,
You’d find me in a minute—you’re already there waiting!
Then I said to myself, “Oh, he even sees me in the dark!
At night I’m immersed in the light!”

Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother’s womb.

You saw who you created me to be before I became me! 
    Before I’d ever seen the light of day,
    the number of days you planned for me
    were already recorded in your book. 
Every single moment you are thinking of me!
    How precious and wonderful to consider
    that you cherish me constantly in your every thought!
    O God, your desires toward me are more
    than the grains of sand on every shore!
    When I awake each morning, you’re still with me.
