UNCOMMON DISCIPLE OF CHRIST

Today’s Bible Verse

Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”

Genesis 3:9 (NKJV)

Uncommon Disciple of Christ

The true characteristic of a disciple of Christ is accountability. This accountability lifestyle is something that the world does not honor and for this reason many fall short and never see the promises of God happen in their lives.

In Genesis 3, we see that when Adam fell, and he no longer wanted to be accountable, so he hid. God had to go looking for him and asked him, “Where are you”? That question wasn’t just a casual question of wanting to know where in the garden he was at, but God was asking him about his life (his family, ministry, etc.).  We see through Adam’s reply that he was afraid (verse 10), and he hid himself. God was wanting to restore him, but fear had so gripped his heart, he isolated himself and hid forgetting who he was designed to be. It then caused him to live as a different person, speaking a different language and possessing a different spirit, one of lying and blaming others, even his family for his own lack of accountability.

In chapter 12 of The Uncommon Life book, Pastor Art shares a powerful truth from 2 Corinthians 11:3-4 (KJV):  But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ (the anointed one and His anointing). For if he that cometh preached another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if you receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

Pastor Art goes on to share an acronym used in forming “Uncommon Disciples” and one of those letters is “A” for Accountability.

The same can be said today, when we fall or make a mistake, we have two choices. We can hide like Adam did or we can confess our sin. The promise God gives us is that if we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). (Deneen Quartero)

An Uncommon Life

Let us not allow the enemy to beguile us by having us to embrace a different Jesus, Spirit or Gospel.  There is only One True God, One True Jesus, and One Precious Holy Spirit. Anything else is of the enemy (John 10:10).

Remember “Child of God,” when we fall short or make a mistake, we have two choices. We can hide like Adam did or we can confess our sin. The promise God gives us is that if (it takes your choice) we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

Today’s Declaration

Lord forgive me of my sin, open a door for me to speak with my leader so I can be an Uncommon Disciple of Christ, the person you designed me to be. I long to be accountable.
