Today’s Bible Verse
Encourage the believers to be passionately devoted to beautiful works of righteousness by meeting the urgent needs of others and not be unfruitful.
Titus 3:14 (TPT)
Leave an Uncommon Living Legacy
The Holy Spirit used this Bible verse and the endings of two other versions to teach me some lessons…
- GNT …they should not live useless lives.
- MSG …so that…they don’t end up with nothing to show for their lives.
He then had me write this out in my journal:
GOD THE FATHER
↓
JESUS
↓
US – DISCIPLES MAKING DISCIPLES
↓
DISCIPLES MAKING DISCIPLES
↓
DISCIPLES MAKING DISCIPLES
↓
ETC…
Through this simple “diagram,” the Holy Spirit emphasized four things to me:
- This G12 Vision is not COMMON; it is not from man! It came from the heart of GOD THE FATHER, carried out by JESUS His Son, and must now be carried on by US, with the help of the HOLY SPIRT! We must be passionately devoted to beautiful works of righteousness (discipleship), and we must meet the urgent needs of others (preaching the Gospel & winning souls); otherwise, we can become fruitless, useless, loveless, faithless and have nothing to show for our lives!
- Remember, we can’t make disciples if we aren’t being discipled! If we aren’t living a HHOTA life – Humble, Honest, Open, Transparent and Accountable, we could easily dethrone GOD THE FATHER and become our own GODFATHER: our kingdom come, and our will be done!
- Each level of DISCIPLES MAKING DISCIPLES represents succeeding generations, from now until Jesus returns! This vision is generational, and each generation leaves a LIVING LEGACY or an inheritance to the next. We must unify (i.e., GenOne), otherwise we could raise up generations after us who do not know God and do not know the works He has done! (Judges 2:10)
- We must Leave an Uncommon Living Legacy! My husband and I have talked about the inheritance we could leave our descendants: A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children… (Prov 13:22). The Holy Spirit showed me that the greatest inheritance or legacy we could leave goes beyondnatural things like money, property, or a good family name. We must also leave an Uncommon Living Legacy that lasts forever: a generational faith and an eternal legacy of souls: men, women, youth, and children who inherit the Kingdom of God and celebrate with us in Heaven when we get there, because we were obedient to this heavenly Vision!
At every level, all generations – the Young, the Younger, and the Younger Still – we must be passionately devoted to win souls and make disciples, to raise up generational leaders, and to be United to Make a Difference, NOW! (Lani Simmons)
An Uncommon Life
Take time, get focused and listen to the Holy Spirit today. He wants to talk with us about this Uncommon Living Legacy He wants us to leave our children, our children’s children, and our disciples. I read somewhere that our eternal perspectives will affect our earthly priorities. The Holy Spirit may need to help you change some of your perspectives and priorities – LET HIM! Write those things down, talk it over with Him and share them with your leader.
Today’s Declaration
Thank You, Father, for planting me in a church where we are unified – the Young, the Younger, and the Younger still – fulfilling the Great Commission: winning souls and making disciples! Thank You, Holy Spirit, for helping me to be passionately devoted to beautiful works of righteousness and meeting the urgent needs of others. My life is useful, faithful, fruitful, thankful, and joyful…and I do leave an Uncommon Living Legacy!
