Today’s Bible Verse
Look to yourselves (take care) that you may not lose (throw away or destroy) all that we and you have labored for, but that you may [persevere until you] win and receive back a perfect reward [in full].
2 John 1:8 (AMPC)
Persevere Until You Win!
The word persevere means: to continue in a course of action even in the face of difficulty; a continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition; to persist steadfastly in pursuit of an undertaking, task, journey, or mission in spite of distraction, difficulty, obstacles, or discouragement. In other words, stick with something, even if it becomes difficult!
Have you ever faced a challenge at home, in your family, at work, school, or amongst people that seemed impossible to overcome? Have you ever encountered a task or assignment that seemed beyond your skill, talent, or knowledge to accomplish? Have you ever come face to face with bad news or a negative report? Have you confronted something in your personal life, your marriage, family, finances, health, or ministry that seemed like it was going to be impossible to see the end from the beginning? I’m sure we all have.
Well, we have good news for you! The good news is that a born again, Spirit-filled, child of God can develop their faith in the Word to the point where no matter what mountain they face, difficulty they encounter or situation they confront, they win! Remember this from Hebrews 13:8: “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever”! What Jesus has done before He will do again. His Word never changes and never, ever fails! The anointing in you to live is still at work in you. Circumstances, people, and situations may change, but the Word remains the same! When we work the Word, the Word will work for us! When we speak the Word, the Word will speak to us. When we stick to the Word, the Word will stick to us! Developing an uncommon faith in God’s Word enables us to develop a persevering spirit and the persevering spirit says, “I won’t give up, shut up, look down or look around! I look up, faith up, believe up and keep my eyes on Jesus the author and finisher of my faith and in Him I believe that I receive and I shall have it.” (Pastor Donalee Pang)
An Uncommon Life
Are you currently facing something that seems difficult, challenging, or seemingly impossible to conquer? I encourage you, do not give up! Persevere in the Word until you win! Don’t ever stop halfway or when you don’t see things change in your timeframe. Pastor Kuna has shared with us: “Let time be your friend.” Use time to develop your faith in the Word, so when a circumstance arises, you are already in position. Aim and fire that Word at the circumstance with a determination to persevere until you win!
Feed your faith! What you feed will live, what you starve will die! Starve the circumstance and feed your faith! A daily time in the Word of God (your daily devotions and prayer), confession of the Word, living out the Word (walking by faith) and fellowshipping with strong believers through church and Life Groups are the Christian disciplines that develop a persevering spirit!
Today’s Declaration
I am a blood-bought, blood-washed child of God. I am committed to practice daily disciplines in the Word and that Word will enable me to conquer in every situation of life. When faced with a circumstance seemingly too difficult to overcome in the natural, I will declare from the beginning that I have the victory through the Blood of the Lamb, the Word of God, and the Name of Jesus and I will persevere in it until I win and receive back a full reward!
