Today’s Bible Verse
And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Galatians 3:29 (NKJV)
Walk In Your Inheritance!
I would like to begin with a short, but true inspirational story. Cara was a 17-year-old student, working at a local restaurant in her neighborhood. She was an excellent employee. She was always helpful and friendly to everyone. One elderly customer named Bill, was so blessed by her that he began coming to the restaurant as part of his daily routine. He was a widower with no children. They became friends. Cara became so important to Bill that he rewrote his will and made her the main beneficiary. When Bill died at the age of 82 in the early 1990s, an unsuspecting Cara had a pleasant letter arrive in the mail. He had left her his entire estate, worth millions of dollars.
As born again believers, we have become heirs together with Christ. God has bestowed upon us every spiritual blessing. He withholds no good and beneficial thing to those who walk uprightly before Him. As a matter of fact, He takes pleasure in seeing His children prosper! All the promises God has made to us in His Word are yes and amen! But why is it that many kind-hearted Christians today miss out on what God has already made available for them?
Hosea 4:6 tells us that God’s people are destroyed because of a lack of knowledge. The enemy wants to keep God’s people ignorant of the spiritual truths in the Bible. There are still people who believe that when sickness or disease comes upon them it’s because God is teaching them a lesson. But the Bible is very clear that it is the enemy who comes to steal, kill, and destroy. The devil is the author of sickness, poverty, and fear. Jesus has come that we might have abundant life! Jesus took upon the curse of humanity on the Cross so that we could be redeemed! There was a miraculous exchange that took place the day Jesus rose from the dead! When we surrendered our hearts to Jesus, we gained an inheritance! It is activated through a life of faith in God’s Word.
Galatians 3:13-14 (TMB) states, “Christ redeemed us from that self-defeating, cursed life by absorbing it completely into himself. Do you remember the Scripture that says, ‘Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree’? That is what happened when Jesus was nailed to the cross: He became a curse, and at the same time dissolved the curse.”

An Uncommon Life
Going back to the story of Cara, I’m sure she must have been overjoyed when she realized that her good friend, Bill, left her an inheritance. Though she mourns the loss of her friend, her life will never be the same because of the thoughtfulness and generosity of Bill. When we come to understand our inheritance in Christ, expectation will begin to grow. When we begin to declare God’s promises, we set our miracles in motion. The promises of God begins to manifest because His Word will never return to Him void. The Bible tells us that death and life are in the power of the tongue. So when we speak with faith and conviction, miracles take place!
Speaking the language of faith consistently is something that we all need to work diligently on. When we continue to walk in the spirit and stay in alignment with God’s will for our lives, we will walk in our inheritance. Be deliberate about seeking God through prayer and studying the scriptures. Continue to mediate on the Word and renew your mind. Walk in your inheritance and don’t allow the enemy to rob you of what rightfully belongs to you.
