UNCOMMON PRAYER WARRIOR

Today’s Bible Verse

Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Act 2:41-42 (NKJV)

Uncommon Prayer Warrior

A great revival happened in Acts 2. Many souls were won, baptized, and continued steadfast in the apostle’s doctrine and fellowship (a type and shadow of Life Group, Life Class and Destiny Training). Many people would look to Peter and say, “Wow, what a great sermon you preached Peter; it convicted the hearts of so many.”  As true as that was, we can never forget that it was the Holy Spirit that brought the growth. He empowered Peter to speak boldly.

Acts 1:14 (AMPC) says, “All of these with their minds in full agreement devoted themselves steadfastly to prayer, (waiting together) with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers. A supernatural move of God happened in prayer that transformed the life of Peter, from a person that betrayed Jesus, to a firm witness (burning torch). He was an ordinary man used by God to win three thousand souls that day. Prayer changes us.

Pastor Art says, “Do you know what happens when you pray? You invite the Holy Spirit in, and you admit that you alone cannot accomplish these things and that only He can” (Uncommon Life, page 265). (Deneen Quartero)

An Uncommon Life

During challenges, it is common to call a friend, family member, or even a Life Group Leader to seek their advice and counsel BEFORE turning to God. Although they offer support and guidance, let us remember that the source of all wisdom for our lives is God. That is what makes us uncommon.

James 1:5 (NKJV), “But, if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”

We have corporate prayer as a church during the first week of every month. Let us approach our prayer time with intention and focus. Let us inquire and require of the Lord and have an expectation that a supernatural move of God will occur in and through us. Let us ask God to move in us so powerfully, so that like Peter, we would continue to be a burning torch that holds forth the word of life to win our family, friends, communities, state, and nation.

Today’s Declaration

Lord, You have done a magnificent work in me. I continue steadfastly in my devotion, prayer, and my classes. I am Your burning one who will win my family, friends, community, state, and nation.
