Today’s Bible Verse

Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice.

A Failed Tactic

The tactic of the enemy has always been to use fear to achieve his objectives.  Fear keeps us compliant to his will, keeps us focused on ourselves, and ultimately, takes our focus away from Jesus.  God says, Fear not, for I am with you.  Don’t look around in terror; I am YOUR God.  When we allow fear to take root, our focus changes.  We look not in Faith, but through terror. Our focus has shifted. 

But God is wanting us to shift our focus back to him.  He says, I am YOUR God.  Not the God I’ve heard about in church but the God that encounters me in the middle of my greatest battles.  My God strengthens me, and those difficulties cannot penetrate my heart because His Strength, His Word, and His Power on the inside of me is a shield to the adversary’s tactic of fear.

I’ve seen times in my life where fear would try to keep me quiet—working to keep me contained, ineffective, and sidelined.  And this is all because I had perhaps even for a moment, forgotten the God that I served.  He was MY God, and I was HIS child. All I needed to do was grab hold of His hand, and He would lead me into victory.

See, He is always looking to help.  He is always looking to hold us up by His victorious hand.  His hand leads us out of fear and into his marvelous light.  Now, we can see fear for what it is…a failed tactic that cannot overcome a child of the Most-High God.  (Pastor Orlando Sagarnaga, Word of Life Arizona)

An Uncommon Life

Are there areas in your life that perhaps have challenged you in your faith?  Perhaps areas where fear has been able to creep in and distort His plans and desires for your life? Child of God!  It’s time we expose the enemy and his failed tactics!

Today, I encourage you to meditate on this powerful verse.  We may be in the middle of a pandemic, but God!  We may be in the middle of financial turmoil, but God!  You may be thinking of walking away, but God!  Set your gaze upon Him.  He never disappoints, and He never lets you go.

Today’s Declaration

Father, today, I choose to remain focused on You. Focused not on what may be screaming for my attention but focused on Your voice.  You are the God of the breakthrough.  I choose to look through the lens of faith.  This marvelous life belongs to me because YOU are MY God!
