AGAINST ALL ODDS

“Against all odds, when it looked hopeless, Abraham believed the promise and expected God to fulfill it. He took God at his word, and as a result he became the father of many nations. God’s declaration over him came to pass: ‘Your descendants will be so many that they will be impossible to count!’”

Romans 4:18 (TPT)

When things look hopeless, you have to continue to believe God at His Word! Your life can be a testimony and an example of God even during a difficult season. I would like to share a story of one of my disciples, Brian, who was going through a season where he had to learn to trust God!

You may be facing tough times during this season, things may look hopeless, but like Abraham you must continue to trust God at His Word. Jeremiah 1:12 (NKJV) says: “Then the Lord said to me, ‘You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word.’” My encouragement to you all is, remember this is just a season! Things are subject to change! Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NKJV) states, “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.”

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
“Through a freak accident I ended up losing feeling from my chest down and I lost the ability to walk within a month’s time. It would require a spinal surgery that could leave me paralyzed. Doctors told me that I may never walk again. I had surgery in February 2015. I spent the rest of 2015 learning how to walk again. In this process there was a lot of falling. When you’re 6’2 and 400 pounds, the falls are a lot more painful. One of the things that I learned is that for every time you fall, there’s an opportunity to get back up again. For me, what I had to understand was that it wasn’t just my walker or my cane that was helping to keep me up. It was God helping me up and guiding me along the way. He was that little voice in me. If I fell, He would tell me, ‘Get back up!’ It’s in these encouraging times where I realized it wasn’t just me, God was there all along, and I would hear that voice say, ‘Brian, get back up!’ This is the benefit of having a relationship with Jesus!” Brian is a testimony of the goodness of God!

It’s our moments of struggle that define us, and how we handle these moments is what matters. (Warren Lilo)
