BE STRONG AND OF GOOD COURAGE

Today’s Bible Verse

“Have I commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9

Be Strong and of Good Courage

As we read Joshua 1, from verse six through verse nine, and also in verse eighteen, God reminds and encourages Joshua four times to “Be strong and of good courage!” In verse 6, He said, “Be strong and very courageous!” In verse 7, God gave instructions on how to be strong and of good courage and to be very courageous! In verse 8, if all of that was not enough, He reminds Joshua once again! Then in verse 9, He says, “The Lord your God is with you wherever you go!” He goes on to share that again in verse 18.

The Lord is reminding Joshua that he can conquer anything because He is with him! Today, God is assuring us that we are strong, and to be of good courage for He is with us wherever we go! Whatever we are facing at this moment – He is there, yes- right there with us even now!

Something to Think About

When Life Class began in February of this year, a young woman really wanted to attend class; however, because of anxiety, she barely was able to make it out of the house to do basic daily living, come to Life Group or church services. Every week, our Life Group would drive her to church, Life Group and to other errands. While doing so, we would go over scriptures, praying and declaring God’s Word of truth over her, saying out loud the five confessions of the Blood of Jesus all together.

Through mediating daily on the Word of God, she gained her strength back, her confidence back, her courage to drive by herself and do many things she was not able to do for a period of time. The Word of God unshackled her; she is brave and courageous and now walks out her free and fearless life daily! Glory to God!

It’s important to know what it means to be “free and fearless.” To be “free” is to be, “released, let go, unshackled.” And to be “fearless” is to be, “bold, brave, courageous, undaunted.” These definitions come as a reminder of the price Jesus already paid on the Cross as His Blood was shed just for you! Today’s Declaration

I am strong and very courageous for the Lord my God is with me wherever I go, each moment of each day! I am free; I am fearless in Jesus’ Name!
