Today’s Bible Verse
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)
YOU ARE … a masterpiece! Valuable and greatly esteemed in the eyes of God.
When we truly begin to receive and believe who God created us to be, we begin to be who God created, and we begin a journey that leads us to our purpose and destiny.
Our identity is not defined in terms of who we are in and of ourselves. It’s defined in terms of the redemptive work of the Cross and what God does in us, the relationship He has with us, and the destiny and purpose He calls us to. God made us who we are, and we are a reflection of who He is. Our identity, our character, reveals to others the character of God:
Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life]. (2 Corinthians 5:17, AMP)
To become a disciple of Jesus is to receive a new identity. In Jesus, we don’t lose ourselves, but we become our true selves.
Christ becomes our life—not just the guarantee of life in heaven, but also here on Earth because the Holy Spirit lives in us. His thoughts become our thoughts, His ways our ways, His love, our love, His peace, our peace, His strength, our strength. His righteousness becomes our righteousness. We become new in Him:
My old identity has been co-crucified with Christ and no longer lives. And now the essence of this new life is no longer mine, for the Anointed One lives his life through me—we live in union as one! My new life is empowered by the faith of the Son of God who loves me so much that he gave himself for me, dispensing his life into mine! (Galatians 2:20, TPT)

Change My Story
Our new life in Christ will change our story. We will not experience anything greater than the fullness of our new life with Christ. Nothing reaches higher or greater depths than this truth.
In Christ, we are made new and are citizens of heaven. The language, values, culture, and expectations of this world begin to change as we behold the truth of His Word. We have been born again for a greater kind of life!
In Deuteronomy 30:15 (NLT), we read, “Now listen! Today I am giving you a choice between life and death, between prosperity and disaster. For I command you this day to love the Lord your God and to keep his commands, decrees, and regulations by walking in his ways. If you do this, you will live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you and the land you are about to enter and occupy.”
For I am God’s masterpiece. He has created me anew in Christ Jesus so that I can do the good things He planned for me to do long ago! I am God’s masterpiece!
