Today’s Bible Verse
Those who trust in the Lord will find new strength; they will soar high on wings like eagles.
Isaiah 40:31 (NLT)
Course Redirection
The world teaches us to rise above our circumstances regardless of what it takes to get there; your knowledge and degree will open doors for you that no one can open. The WORD teaches us to trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not unto your own understanding. The world teaches us that it doesn’t matter what anyone thinks, we can do what we want, when we want. The WORD teaches us to give over our will to live HIS will. The world shows us that we are to do it for ourselves and that no one is going to do it for you. The WORD of God says give over to me the desires of your heart. God has far greater things in store for you than you can think of or imagine and He will be with you always.
We can miss the key element of what Isaiah 40:31 is telling us, “Trust in the Lord.” We want to take things into our own hands because things are not working out the way we thought it would or maybe not in the timeline we strategically planned.
Living an Uncommon Life means that regardless of how long it takes or what is tempting you and I to go a stray, we stay focused on trusting in the Lord. We can get discouraged when what you are desiring to see is not happening for us, but it’s happening for others around us. When He gives us a dream we have to be willing to commit to the process in that God given dream coming to pass. If we are being asked to course correct it is always for our own good. (BJ Neleieha)
An Uncommon Life
I was a freshman in college, as a non-traditional student, which simply means I did not have the discipline to go straight into college after high school. Props and kudos to those of you who did. In the last 4-6 years, I believed that I needed to “prepare” for what God had in store for my life. My desire for learning grew. I was in every training my job had that helped me to learn more about leadership, managerial skills, etc. I attended conferences on the mainland and took every opportunity my principal gave me to travel. In June of 2021 a desire to go back to college to get my Masters and then PhD started to come to the forefront of my heart. I started the process of going back to college and completed all the paperwork needed and started classes.
Well, lo and behold, ministry comes across the pulpit in our leaders’ encounter, “What is that one thing holding you back, that you have been unwilling to give over to the Lord?” “Oh my gosh,” was my first thought, then I said in my heart, “Lord, reveal to me what that one thing is.” He answered immediately, “I will teach you all that you need to know for the MORE I have in store for you.” I am not saying to stop going to school if that is what you are doing now. But I am saying that the Lord can redirect our path, does a course correction and we don’t fully understand why, TRUST him anyway. He will bring your heart’s desire to pass in HIS time, if its HIS will for your life.
Three things I want to share with you that I learned through this:
- Don’t attach yourself to anything in this lifetime, because you are not your own.
- Course corrections will happen, it doesn’t mean you didn’t hear from God the first time, it just simply means there are some details that we overlooked and He is protecting us from the true consequences of our decisions.
- The Lord Himself is the ultimate teacher not just because of who He is, it’s because He is the one that knows the end from the beginning and He sees what we don’t see. Trust Him at all times even when you don’t understand.
Today’s Declaration
I am UNCOMMON in every way because my Heavenly Father is UNCOMMON. My life is not my own; I trust in You, Lord, with all my heart and everything within me. From this moment on, I will trust You in my finances, with the lives of my children, my marriage, my career and my ministry. I will follow You to the ends of the earth, because I know You love me too much to leave me as I am. Have Your way in my life Lord, in JESUS’ Name I pray. Amen!!!!!
