David’s Mighty Men

Hey Kids!

David was definitely an amazing hero!  He conquered lions, tigers and bears!!!!  Ohhhh my and the big, ugly giant!  But God made him an even greater hero!!  How can he get more amazing than that?  He obeyed God in all that he did, and he cared for the mighty men that God gave him as his army.  Yeah, David was a Captain of men.

He trained and taught them all that they needed to know to be mighty warriors like David.  David showed them what to do and how to be a warrior by his example.  And he gave them something that made them strong inside and out.  He gave them the Spirit of God.  David’s strength came from the Spirit of God that lived in him.  Just like David, these men were not born heroes, NO, they still picked their nose, they still stink farted out loud, and some of them didn’t even brush their teeth!!  But they became heroes because of their love for God and they followed and obeyed all that their captain taught them to do.

Did you know that God will send a captain to you to help you to be formed into a hero?  Yes, they will teach you, lead you, and help you to follow Jesus’ example.  And will even love you and be patient with you when you make the stinkest fart out loud!  And, guess what?  One day you will be a captain too!  How cool is that?!  Are you ready to be formed into a hero for God?  Ready?  Set?  Let’s GOOOOO!

Join a Kidz Life Life Group and you will meet God’s best captains ever!

Today’s Bible Reading

1 Samuel 22:1-2 (NLT)

So David left Gath and escaped to the cave of Adullam. Soon his brothers and all his other relatives joined him there. Then others began coming—men who were in trouble or in debt or who were just discontented—until David was the captain of about 400 men.

Matthew 28:18-20 (MSG)

Jesus, undeterred, went right ahead and gave his charge: “God authorized and commanded me to commission you: Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.”
