Defeating the Giants
Hey Kids!
Did you know that David our hero in the Bible had a giant in his life? Yeah, he was huge and mean. He shouted bad things about God’s people and made everyone around him scared to even look at him. Nobody was brave enough to stop him from bullying God’s people. They let fear stay with them and became smaller than they really were.
But God prepared David to believe in His great power. David knew that this battle was not his but the Lord’s. He didn’t look at how much taller and bigger this giant was. He didn’t listen to the words that he spoke. He didn’t even think about what the giant could do to him. No way, he already knew that God is more powerful than the mean ugly giant. And he wasn’t going to let fear come into his thoughts, words, or actions.
What are the giants in your life? I’m not talking about the Jolly Green Giant, or the giant that David used a slingshot and stone to knock down, or the giant in Jack and the Beanstalk. I mean things that are so huge like a big bad giant in your life that you don’t know how to get rid of.
Or it could be things in your life that you don’t like but it has taken control of your life like anger, disobedience, sadness, shyness, sickness, thinking you’re not important, comparing yourself with others, or some kind of sin you are hiding? Maybe it is fear that you won’t do well in school, in sports, in whatever you need to do, or fear to talk, or to be who God made you to be? These giants are the devil’s weapons against you!
But God gave you supersonic powerful weapons against every giant and anything the devil brings against you including fear! It’s not your fist, it’s not your Kung Fu techniques, it’s not a taser or even a rock! No, God’s weapons are billion, trillion, and infinity times more powerful than anything!! The special weapons He has given to you are prayer, the Name of Jesus, the Blood of Jesus, and the Word of God! God’s heroes always use the right weapons, not swords or guns!
Yes, when you pray to God it is stronger than any giant! Because nothing is impossible with God when you ask God for help and believe that God can do whatever you ask! There is power in the Name of Jesus greater than any giant, fear, or sin! The Bible tells us that every knee shall bow to the Name of Jesus. This means fear, sickness, and any giant has to fall and cannot stand up against the Name of Jesus! But, you must say out loud, “In the Name of Jesus, giant, sin, sickness, fear get out of my life!” Whatever it is tell it to get out of your life in the Name of Jesus!
And the Blood of Jesus is God’s atomic bomb! It will destroy anything that God did not plan to be in your life. When you say out loud God’s Word the power in the Blood of Jesus will destroy any giant.
What are you going to do about the giants in your life? Are you going to let the giants stop you from doing the right things and the things that God called you to do? No more, right? You tell whatever giant in your life to be destroyed by the power in the Name of Jesus and the Blood of Jesus. You speak God’s Word out loud! And don’t ever give up! Say it right now! Say it boldly and shout it out! In the Name of Jesus, giant (fear, sickness, sin) get out of my life! Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, and you have no place in my life. Get out of my life, my heart, and my mind in Jesus’ Name and by the Blood of Jesus! God has not given me a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind. Amen!
Did you know that David did not take down the giant so that he could become famous? Nope, it was so that everyone would know and praise God. He fought so that everyone could see the wonderful things God does. So, when you take down the giants in your life it will give everyone hope that God will fight for them and take down the giants in their lives.
This Week’s Pledge of Honor

This Week’s Bible Reading
2 Corinthians 10:4 (ICB)
We fight with weapons that are different from those the world uses. Our weapons have power from God. These weapons can destroy the enemy’s strong places.
