DON’T CONCEDE YOUR FAITH

Today’s Bible Verse

“Faith is what makes real the things we hope for. It is proof of what we cannot see.”

Hebrews‬ 11:1‬ (ERV‬)‬‬‬‬‬

Don’t Concede Your Faith

To concede means to acknowledge an opponent’s victory before it is officially established.  Well, the GOOD NEWS is, our opponent has already been defeated at the cross; therefore, we are already declared the winners!

So, why is it that sometimes we don’t act like it, live like it, or talk like it?

Faith is the substance of the things we hope for. Faith is made out of something. That something is our hope—the God kind of hope.  This hope earnestly expects and awaits a favorable and victorious outcome of what cannot be seen with our natural eyes but can be seen with our “faith” eyes as we trust God and His Word.

It’s like the twelve leaders that Moses sent to spy out the land that the Lord was giving them (Numbers 13).  These twelve men were there for 40 days and saw the goodness and richness of the land that God said He was giving them.  Just one cluster of grapes had to be carried by two men!  So, when they returned and reported to Moses and the people, ten of them said the land is good, but the giants and their large and fortified cities are too much to conquer.

They saw themselves as grasshoppers, looked at their situation and circumstance, and conceded.  The people who heard their report conceded also.  They acknowledged victory for the enemy before any battles were even fought.  But Joshua and Caleb, who saw the same things the others had, came back and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.”  Those two men had faith in God and not in their abilities. They did not let their surroundings compromise the word the Lord had given them.  In the end, the ten who conceded, and their families, never got to enter the land flowing with milk and honey.  Joshua, Caleb, and their families did.

Are we giving up too soon?  Don’t concede your faith!  Let’s expect God’s word to come to pass in our lives.  Let’s expect a favorable, victorious outcome.  (Pastor Veronica Acevedo)

Seize the Moment

Have I had the opportunity to concede my faith?  Was I approaching the situation or circumstance in the natural?  Was I earnestly expecting a favorable outcome based upon my trust in God and His Word?

Set Your Life

Settle it today. I will NOT concede my faith.  Decide to trust God and His Word.

Today’s Declaration

I believe; therefore, I speak.  I will NOT concede my faith. I do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen, by faith. The things I see are temporary and subject to change. I choose to trust You, Lord. I will not let my surroundings compromise the Word You have given me. I expect and eagerly await my favorable and victorious outcome!  I am already declared the WINNER!
