DRINKS ON ME

Today’s Bible Verse

“Then on the most important day of the feast, the last day, Jesus stood and shouted out to the crowds— “All you thirsty ones, come to me! Come to me and drink! Believe in me so that rivers of living water will burst out from within you, flowing from your innermost being, just like the Scripture says!”

John‬ ‭7:37-38‬ ‭(TPT)

Drinks On Me

Next time you’re at a wedding or restaurant, stand up and begin to shout, “drinks on me!” You’ll  either make a lot of friends or get kicked out of the restaurant.  Jesus was not referring to a beverage but rather a supply of living water produced from the Holy Spirit, a drink that will quench your thirst and satisfy you forever.

In the Gospel of John, there was a woman that was having a conversation with Jesus at a well.  Jesus had stopped at this well to rest.  Along came a certain Samaritan woman; this is when the conversation went from, “give me a drink” to, “you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband.”

The woman didn’t try to deny the truth or make excuses.  Rather, she was amazed and stunned by the prophetic word from Jesus.  She ran back to her village to tell everyone about what had just happened.  She told them her story.  Excited about what they just heard, the whole village ran to see this man at the well. Experiencing and hearing for themselves, they became believers of Jesus. Later, the villagers told the woman they had more than her personal witness: “But now we’ve heard for ourselves and are convinced He is the true savior of the world” (John 4:1-27).  That conversation changed her life forever.

Jesus said, “I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life” (John 14:6). This woman found the Way, heard the Truth, and experienced the Life.  When we become born again, we receive the promise of an endless supply of living water.  This living water is everything we will ever need to completely satisfy us in our everyday lives.  This living water cannot be purchased or worked for. It can only be found through Christ.  So, let’s continue to drink from His well, the endless supply of living water that is a gushing fountain of the Holy Spirit (John 4:14TPT). (Shawn Kurihara)
