EMPOWERED TO PRAY

Today’s Bible Verse

Laying your life down in tender surrender before the Lord will bring life, prosperity, and honor  as your reward.

Proverbs 22:4 (TPT)

Empowered to Pray

Right now, we, as the family of Word of Life, are amid a supernatural and significant time of preparation for our upcoming G12 Hawaii Conference. We are waging battle in the realm of the Spirit, and will be engaging in a time of devotion, prayer and fasting. We must enter in confidence in the power and authority available to us through Christ Jesus as we step up, mount up, and get in position to our assigned hour of prayer with our life groups and our networks.

Our lives are not our own. When we are willing to be who God needs us to be, ready to lay our lives down in prayer, it “..will bring life, prosperity, and honor as our reward.” We resist the temptation to enter a cruise-control mode through these 40 days. We must guard our hearts against being in a place of familiarity or just going through the motions of religious mechanics.

Matthew 12:30 (TMB) says, “This is war, and there is no neutral ground. If you’re  not on my side, you’re the enemy; if you’re not helping, you’re making things worse.” I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be in the way, hindering the work God is passionately pursuing to accomplish through us. Lives are at stake! I want to be on the “God-side” of this war where strength and victory reside!

When we are called into these set apart times and opportunities of prayer, how do our hearts respond? Do we respond with a heart and a mindset that is charged up, boxing gloves laced up, and ready to get into the ring? Or do we have a response that sees the time of prayer as just another thing on our already overflowing to-do list? Are we quick to think of the laundry list of reasons why we are too busy, too occupied, too tired because of all that we have on our plate? Let’s purpose in our hearts to be ready and eager to be the ones He can work through.

Paul shares in Colossians 4:2, “Don’t be weary in prayer; keep at it; watch for God’s answers  and remember to be thankful when they come.” And Ephesians 6:10 in the Phillips translation reminds us, “… be strong—not in yourselves but in the Lord, in the power of His boundless resource. Put on God’s complete armor so that you can successfully resist all the devil’s  methods of attack.”

It’s time to armor up! Let’s step into victory together! (Pastor Charli Abihai, Word of Life Kahului)

An Uncommon Life

When you already know (like really, really know…the kind of knowing that no one can talk you out of it sort of know) that you are entering into a battle on the side of victory, you respond accordingly…you respond like a ready warrior! Because you expect success, you won’t hesitate or procrastinate. Let’s expect transformation and breakthrough to take place as we are willing to do the work, get up, get in, and press! God is ever-ready to release His power through our consecrated and dedicated prayers.

Today’s Declaration

When God calls me to pray, I am swift to respond. I will not hesitate. I will not procrastinate. I  am ready to wage war in the Spirit. I am confident He hears me when I pray. And because of that, I will keep watch for God’s answers to my prayers and remember to thank Him.
