ENJOYING GOOD HEALTH

“Do you know that your body is a template of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.”

1 Corinthians 6:19

Usually we make a big effort to look after, decorate and smarten up our homes in order to create a nice environment to live in. So it’s even more important to take great care of where the Holy Spirit has made His dwelling. Unfortunately, some have permitted their bodies to be affected by different circumstances. One of the greatest enemies for our health is stress, which is the major cause of many illnesses and premature deaths. Another enemy of our health is bad eating habits.

One afternoon while having lunch at a restaurant with Dr. Derek Prince, I asked him why was he so careful about what he ate? He replied, “Many years ago, as I walked inside a beautiful restaurant I saw myself as I was. I was walking into an abyss and God called me. He told me, ‘Derek, if you keep eating the way you do, you will shorten your days as this has happened to many preachers who have destroyed their bodies in these places.’ Since that moment, I decided to devote myself to study more about health, and this has helped me in extending my days.”

How important is it if today, you could look at yourself in the mirror of the Word, and allow the Holy Spirit to do a check-up on His temple and see the areas of your body that have been neglected. The Lord, through James, said, “Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says” (James 1:22). We should be looking at ourselves through the Word of God and allow it to change us.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
The Spirit of God wants to flow powerfully through a body that does not present any kind of obstacle. We shouldn’t accept anything that is outside of the divine order because we are God’s representatives on earth. As the world cannot perceive God, they seek to see Him through us.

The other aspect that attacks our health is to deny the body the rest it needs. The Lord taught that we should work six days a week and have one of them to rest. If God chose to rest, how much more should we do the same? Don’t think that by running faster you will get further. If we keep to God’s foreordained principles, we will be able to enjoy good health.

TODAY’S DECLARATION
“The Spirit of God is my guide in everything, including what I should eat, and how much I should rest, and I know by faith that I will enjoy good health.”

Today’s post is an excerpt from Pastor Cesar Castellanos’ book, Declarations of Power for 365 Days of the Year: Volume Two.
