FAITH TRANSFORMS CIRCUMSTANCES

“Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.”

Romans 10:17

God has given us the capacity to believe so that we can bring about a positive change in every evil circumstance. Therefore, it is vital to hear what He has to say. Everything that we want to conquer has to be backed up by His Word. The Word holds the seed of life. When it falls into a healed heart that is full of faith, the seed germinates and yields the fruit of the miracle that is desired. All the power of God is condensed in His Word and only faith can activate it and put it into action.

Even though our ears have the capacity to hear many different sounds, success in hearing the voice of God depends on our attention. We should listen attentively to His voice, so that He can fulfill His whole purpose through His powerful Word that works because of His favor on our lives. We need to saturate our minds with the Word of God, because over time it conserves the power within us. It is as powerful now as it was in the time of the prophets. His Word is not subject to time, nor space, because God does not move by human laws. He established time for human beings. His Word is in the spiritual realm and the spiritual realm always dominates the natural realm.

As the Word comes from the mouth of the Lord, it cannot return until it fulfills all that it was sent to do. Even if there is only one person willing to believe, that Word has to be present to fulfill its mission in that one person. The Lord said, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away” (Mark 13:31).

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
Esteban was asked in a meeting with some leaders, “How did you begin your Christian life?” He responded, “One day, I went out to buy breakfast and when I returned I heard noises coming from the neighbor’s house that made me curious. So, I got close and saw a group of people reading the Bible. The next moment, I found myself in the living room of that home, participating in the meeting, with what I had bought for breakfast still in my hand. That is when I began to make the first steps towards the Christian life. Next I became part of the church. I became interested in preparing myself for the ministry. Later, I was given the responsibility of leading a cell group. Since I liked to intercede for the needs of the church, I knew that you, Pastor, were traveling each week to Bucaramanga to preach. And I knew that the next day you would return. The Lord put a burden in my heart to support you in prayer. Together with the people who attended cell group, we always prayed that the Lord would send a Pastor to that city. You were already going there for several months to preach every Wednesday. One day, to my surprise, you called me and said, ‘Would you like to Pastor that church?’ ‘I almost passed out. I thought it was a responsibility too great for me. I thought to myself, ‘Will they get used to my teaching after having heard Pastor Castellanos?’ However, in my heart I had peace and accepted the challenge. I believe God does not make mistakes. We are in the best place. We love this city, the people, and the Lord has blessed us with a membership of more than 25,000 people.” (Esteban Chaves)
