FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT

Today’s Bible Verse

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

1 Timothy 6:12 (NKJV)

Fight the Good Fight

Paul gives us two powerful keys to fight the good fight of faith!

1.  It is a Good Fight that is connected to …

2.  Possessing a Good Confession …

Confession: saying the same thing as or speaking only what God’s word says

We are living in very unique times.  Our world is changing every day.  But despite all the chaos and distractions, the church stands strong.  We will not let up or let down when it comes to our faith.  This is the time to fight the Good Fight of Faith. We are not just fighting any kind of fight; it’s a fight of Faith!

How can we fight a good fight in the midst of what we see and hear in the midst of what we are experiencing? The answer is in these words from Paul to Timothy: “fight the good fight of faith” (1 Timothy 612).

Twice, Paul tells him it’s a fight, but it’s a good fight connected to a good confession.  Things have been difficult for families, children, society, etc.  What’s been happening has been tearing on the hearts of wonderful people, but we don’t have to let it.  We have the Word, the Blood, and the Name. We have our faith to rely on, but we must use it.  How?  We must enter into a living lifestyle of faith.  This involves 3 elements:

Having a Victorious Way of Thinking

1 Corinthians 2:16, “For ‘who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?’”

“But we have the mind of Christ”, 1 Corinthians 2:16 (NKJV).

Having the mind of Christ means thinking His thoughts, dwelling on His Word, meditating on the Scriptures.

Possessing a Victorious Way of Living

Romans 8:37, “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (NKJV).

Note it says, “we are MORE.”  When we think, speak and live victoriously, we will live that way, it becomes our way of doing things.

Establishing a Victorious Way of Speaking

Romans 8:31, “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us” (NKJV).

We obtain victory in Christ through our confession of faith.  Our words carry power, and we conquer by speaking, declaring, and confessing the Word of God. When we understand these 3 elements, we always win! (Pastor Chauncey Pang)

Change My Story

Timothy had a Paul, and Joshua had a Moses.  Their stories were changed because they had someone to help them through their process of growth.  Are you connected? do you have a leader in your life to minister to you?  Do you have a leader to help you understand the process, your walk with the Lord?

Our vision, the G12 vision, connects every believer with a leader.  This leader is committed to guide you, help you, pray with you, and mentor you in the vision.  This vision is the Master’s Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), the Dream of God’s Heart, and He’s calling you to answer that call, so He can change the story of your life!

Today’s Declaration

I will fight the good fight of faith!  I will lay hold onto eternal life because I know that I am called to fulfill the Master’s Commission, and I will confess the good confession of faith!
