Today’s Bible Verse
Behold, I am the handmaiden of the Lord; let it be done to me according to what you have said. And the angel left her. And at that time Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country to a town of Judah, And she went to the house of Zachariah and, entering it, saluted Elizabeth. And it occurred that when Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with and controlled by the Holy Spirit.
Luke 1:38-41 (AMPC)
From Generation to Generation
This chapter in Luke is full of true surrender, deep willingness, extreme humility, profound vision, and the power of a promise from generation to generation. This passage of scripture (Luke 1:26-56) has always awakened my spirit because of the prophetic promise of God, “…from generation to generation and His mercy (His compassion and kindness…) is on those who fear Him with Godly reverence, from generation to generation and age to age].”
Elizabeth was barren and of an older age when she was pregnant with John the Baptist. That seemed unnatural for her age and time but it happened because of her sincere heart. Mary was a virgin (pure in heart) and a young woman when the Angel of the Lord came to her. They both were amazed that they would be chosen to carry a promise for their generations. That promise from God empowered them from the inside out and when they heard it, they received and theybelieved it and it came to pass. What seemed impossible in the natural became possible in the supernatural. Once it was settled in their hearts, it came to pass. Mary spoke out in faith saying, “Behold, I am the handmaiden of the Lord; let it be done to me according to what you have said” (Luke 1:38 AMPC). The Voice Translation states: Mary (deciding in her heart): “Here I am, the Lord’s humble servant. As you have said, let it be done to me.” She made the decision to give birth to the promise!
I encourage you to read the entire passage. It is full of what many of us must do when a vision, a promise, A DREAM is given to us from the Father. The promise and dream from our Father for our generation is Mark 16:15-18 and Matthew 28:16-20, the Great Commission, to win souls and make disciples!
The Holy Spirit will guide you with a heart of faith to reach every generation. There are no barriers, intimidations, fears, or insecurities, when the heart is pure for each generation. Mary and Elizabeth displayed a generation connection not a generation clash. Although there was an age difference, they didn’t let that stop them from having a relationship with each in Christ. They built a bridge not a barrier from generation to generation. They respected, honored, and reverenced each other’s calling, promise, and hope in what they were about to give birth to as Luke 1:47 (AMPC) states “And it occurred that when Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with and controlled by the Holy Spirit.]. They were no arguments regarding their age difference. (Pastor Donalee Pang)
An Uncommon Life
One of my team of 12 sent a picture to the rest of our team of her mother and grandmother at the last night of the Generation One Conference. They right up front with all the young people, at the altar, worshipping the Lord. These disciples didn’t allow anything to limit or hinder them from receiving all that God had for them at this conference. We must not allow anything to hinder us from reaching all generations. Every generation needs what we have: the gospel of Jesus Christ, for this gospel IS the power of God unto salvation for all that believes and unto every generation.
The Generation One Conference was a life changing experience for every generation in the church! With XOXO 2 years ago, there was a SHIFT and with REMNANT ARISING there was a MOVE of God from the heavenly realm for all generations. We were awakened to the amazing, the supernatural, the powerful and the miracle power of God for everyone. Something “moved” within us and around us when we chose to embrace the generations before us, the generations with us, and the generations to come. We were empowered with vision, compelled with power and strengthened in faith to reach every generation. It was such a blessing to see generations coming together for one cause because we are the REMANANT ARISING!
Today’s Declaration
My soul magnifies and exalts the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. For He has looked [with loving care] on the humble state of His maidservant (and manservant) (say your name), for behold, from now on all generations will count me blessed and happy and favored by God! For He who is mighty has done great things for me. And holy is His name [to be worshiped in His purity, majesty, and glory]. And His mercy is upon generation after generation toward those who [stand in great awe of God and] fear Him (Luke 1:38, 47-50 AMP). Lord, I am committed to reach every generation with the gospel of Christ because it is the power of God to salvation for every (generation) that believes!
