Today’s Bible Verse
“Every tree will be revealed by the quality of fruit that it produces…People are known in this same way. Out of the virtue stored in their heart, good and upright people will produce good fruit…For the overflow of what has been stored in your heart will be seen by your fruit and will be heard in your words.”
Luke 6:44a-45 (TPT)
Fruit Don’t Life
A person can often determine the health of a tree by examining its fruit. When taking a moment to look at the fruit, what do we see? Is the fruit the right color and shape? Or does it appear to be discolored and underdeveloped? Is there an abundance of fruit? Or is it barren and lacking? The fruit condition on a tree is often an indicator of the soil’s state and the strength of its root system.
In much the same way, the “fruit” of our own lives can reveal the condition of whatʻs happening in us. What is the state of the soil that our heart is rooted in? Where we have our roots truly established will be exposed by the way we are living, speaking, responding, or reacting in our daily lives. If we purposefully choose to keep ourselves in a place of surrender before the Lord, continually drawing from the Word, allowing it to take first place, letting the Word settle any and every argument, it will produce sweet, beautiful, abundant fruit that glorifies God. There will be great peace flowing through us in times of overwhelming challenges. There will be an overflow of supernatural provision when there is a drastic lack happening all around. There will be an uncommon strength and grace upon us to accomplish what would seem impossible in the natural. And not only will this great fruit bless us personally, but there will be an overflow that enables us to be an encouragement to others, drawing them to an invitation to receive from God for themselves.
If we choose to hold back and withdraw our hearts from the opportunity of being rooted and planted in the rich soil of the Word, it will not produce what God desires for us to experience. We will instead find ourselves with fruit that is bitter from offense and unforgiveness. Our fruit will be discolored and distorted due to worry and doubt. It will not grow to its fullest potential in size due to weariness and stress resulting from doing things in our own strength versus drawing from the power and supply of God.
Letʻs purpose in our hearts to root our lives in the Word. When we make that quality decision daily, it will produce fantastic fruit for His glory! (Pastor Charli Abihai)
