GET AND ACQUIRE THE TRUTH

“Buy the truth, and do not sell it, also wisdom and instruction and understanding.”

Proverbs 23:23

To buy means, “to possess, to get and to acquire the truth,” and the truth is God’s Word. You need to make God’s Word the top priority in your life. You need to guard that truth at all times because it will make you free and keep you free.

There is an enemy that’s out to steal the Word because he knows how powerful it is. He wants to get you to buy into his lies and reject the truth. Things like worldliness, the busyness of life, wrong associations and being distracted by the various kinds of social media. If we are not careful, we can end up selling or giving away the truth, instead of possessing the truth which is our vital need and most treasured possession. When you know the truth you will not want to exchange it for anything else. You will hold on to it no matter what.

The three important components that come with the truth are wisdom, instruction and understanding. These three things you must also possess. They will help to navigate you through life.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
A couple was excited that they were having a baby. During this time, the wife would receive bad reports from her doctor that the baby would be born with Down syndrome. Despite hearing these facts they did not sell the truth (the Word). They knew that facts cannot change the truth, but that the truth can change the facts. When they heard the negative reports they stood on the Word; they spoke the Word; they praised and thanked God through the remainder of the pregnancy. And God was faithful to watch over His Word to perform it. The child was born completely healthy, with no defects and is now serving the Lord as a 144 Leader, leading his generation to Christ. This young man today is our son, Solomon. (Pastor Chauncey Pang)
