Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.
Proverbs 16:3
God Will Always Take Care of Us
We must understand that in the Christian life everything must be closely linked to faith, because without faith it is impossible to please God. There is a difference when we decide to put our desires in the hands of God, because this helps us to stay away from all selfishness.
The enemy knows that if he can rule over the mind of man, he can completely enslave him. We need to always make every effort to keep the mind of Christ. Solomon said, “But whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm” (Proverbs 1:33). The mind is the target of the most intense bullet from the enemy. He sends doubts and arguments as fiery darts to knock us from God’s predetermined purpose for our lives.
But it is the human mind that also receives God’s ideas that are revealed through His Word. If we cherish them in our hearts, this will produce a peace that surpasses all understanding. We can say that people who conquer are those who only accept the ideas of God, because they know that His ideas are the basis of development in life.
When we make the Word of God central to our existence, we can rest in His promises. “Then will you go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble. When you lie down, do not be afraid, when you lie down your sleep will be sweet” (Proverbs 3:23-24). I know that, for some, it may take years to conquer your mind and surrender it at Jesus’ feet. It took Job months of grief. He was standing in his own righteousness and there was nothing that could move him, until he was confronted by God and His Word. That is what caused him to surrender. It was then that he said, “My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you. Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes” (Job 42:5-6). He could have avoided much grief if he had just humbled himself and repented at the beginning of his time of testing. But his own righteousness was so ingrained in his heart, that there was no other way to be free from its release except through brokenness. This led Job to a genuine conversion and it was then that he achieved complete restoration.
Something to Think About
When the telegraph was the fastest form of long-distance communication, a young man applied for a job as a Morse Code operator in response to an advertisement in the newspaper. He went to the correct address, and when he entered the place he found a spacious, occupied office, full of noise, including the sound of the telegraph. At the reception area there was a sign indicating that the applicants should fill out a form and wait to be called to enter the office for the job interview. The young man did as he was asked and sat down along with seven others who were waiting their turn before him. Minutes later, however, he stood up, crossed the room, went to the back office and entered. Surprised the other applicants were wondering what was going on and whispered amongst themselves that no one had been called yet. They assumed that the young man had made a mistake and would be disqualified. Within minutes, however, the manager accompanied the young man outside the office and told the other applicants, “Gentlemen, thank you very much for coming, but the job position has already been filled.” They began to discuss with each other. One said, “Wait a minute, I do not understand. He was the last one to come, and we didn’t even have a chance to be interviewed. However, you gave him the job? It’s not fair!” The manager said, “Sorry, but in the last couple of minutes, the telegraphs have been sending a communication in Morse code. The message was, ‘If you understand this message come in, the job is yours.’ None of you understood, except for this young man, that is why he got the job.” Now, can you comprehend why some people receive God’s benefits and others don’t?
Prayer
Dear Father, what a privilege it is to be called Your child. Thank You for giving my life meaning and direction as well as giving me a vision. I was born with the aim of reaching lives, cities and nations for You. I know that the anointing of the Holy Spirit, which dwells in me will help me to do that. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
