But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name.

You are not a stranger! You are His chosen child! He gave you that right, that privilege of becoming a part of His family. You have the right of a son/daughter in His kindgom. A stranger is not likely to walk into your home and grab something from the refrigerator, but your child will go into the refrigerator, pantry, and and possibly grab something from the stove without thinking twice about it. Your child knows he has access to the whole house. All the privileges a child could have in his Father’s house are yours. You are a child of the Most High!
