GOD’S HANDS AND FEET

Today’s Bible Verse

Run as fast as you can from all the ambitions and lusts[s] of youth; and chase after all that is pure. Whatever builds up your faith and deepens your love must become your holy pursuit. And live in peace with all those who worship our Lord Jesus with pure hearts.

2 Timothy 2:22 (TPT)

God’s Hands and Feet

From a jail cell Paul writes a letter to Timothy warning, instructing and challenging those on the receiving end how to live a life of purity. In the following verses we learn of 6 analogies of a believer that Paul refers to: a soldier, an athlete, a farmer, a minister, a container, and servant.  Each of these analogies come with characteristics that we need to strive to possess in order to live a life of purity.

Soldier – 2 Tim. 2:3 Man or women of integrity, ready for battle at all times

Athlete – 2 Tim. 2:5 Remain faithful to God, disciplined in all areas of our lives

Farmer – 2 Tim. 2:6 Who labors to produce crop

Minister – 2 Tim. 2:15 Correctly explains the Word of Truth, obedient to the Lord

Container – 2 Tim. 2:21 honorable vessel, prepared for every good work

Servant – 2 Tim. 2:24 skilled in gentleness, meekness, and patience

An Uncommon Life

In Pastor Art’s new book, Uncommon Life, in chapter 4, he writes, “We live in a society that is like an octopus that has tentacles reaching into our lives, judging us as husbands, judging us as wives, judging us as parents, judging us for our educational choices, our worship choices, our beliefs, our values, and our morals…..You’re not here to blend in; you’re not here to leave Jesus out of your walk.  You’re here to represent Jesus Christ – to reflect Him to a hurting world and be God’s hands and feet.” (Sepulveda, 2022)

Paul reminds us in 2 Timothy how to be God’s hands and feet.

  1. Live a disciplined life with integrity
  2. Be faithful with everything that has been entrusted to us
  3. Laboring to be productive and flourishing in soul winning and discipleship
  4. Dispensing the true Word of God from the overflow of our quality time with the Lord, obedient to His prompting
  5. Everything we do is done with a humble, kind and gentle heart
  6. Never compromising the anointing of the anointed one inside of us

Today’s Declaration

Lord, today, I recommit my heart to Your calling upon my life to be Your hands and feet. I accept the truth of the Word of God for my life and the lives of those I have a sphere of influence over. I repent from living a common life. I humbly ask for Your forgiveness. I have been giving over what matters most to what matters least. I am now a soldier. I can focus on the spiritual battle the enemy may bring against me.  I am a farmer who faithfully labors for souls to be won to the Kingdom of God, diligently running as an athlete this race of faith, ministering the truth of the Word of God to every vessel as a servant leader with humility, never compromising the anointing on the inside of me to live an Uncommon Life.  Amen!
