I AM A FINISHED WORK

“I pray with great faith for you, because I’m fully convinced that the One who began this glorious work in you will faithfully continue the process of maturing you and will put his finishing touches to it until the unveiling of our Lord Jesus Christ! ”

Philippians 1:6 (TPT)

I wish my testimony was one of unwavering faith and strong character at all times. It would be great for my friends to all testify of my love for Jesus and of my commitment to the Gospel at all costs…but not all will. I do love Jesus and I have made a commitment to the Gospel. But I have fallen short more times than I’d like to admit. My words and actions were far from what others would have expected of me. My character was put to the test and I failed miserably.

Some of you have been in this same situation, and I’m sure like me you wish you had another chance to do things differently. In these times, God’s has always spoken to my heart and to my self-disappointment, “I’m not done with you yet.” Our faithful and loving Father always brings Paul’s words to my memory. And I remind you today of this very truth: “There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that He who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears” (Philippians 1:6 MSG).

He’s not finished! God is still making me; He’s still molding and shaping and transforming me. And here’s good news—He is doing the same for you. God’s not done with us! What God did for me was turn my focus from “me” and put my eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of my faith. When our hearts are focused on Jesus, through His Word, we begin to see the purpose and plan of His heart. And when we enter into the Vision, His plan and purpose, we begin to see things God’s way. His way of doing and being right. This is when we begin to change – when we enter. Entering is the key to the journey of transformation. Enter into the vision and take the step towards your destination. No matter where we’ve fallen short, our Heavenly Father still has a plan and purpose for us that is not yet complete.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
The promise of God is that He finishes what He starts. God is at work to mature us, to transform us and to make us into the men and women He created us to be. We are designed on purpose, with a purpose. Today, you can be confident that God sees you and that He loves you. He has a great plan and purpose for your life, and He is fully committed to seeing through.

Life is a journey. And God orders the steps of His children. His Word guides our steps. Let us be people who determine to follow God as He leads and live the journey. Don’t let past failures dictate your future. Rejoice today that He isn’t done with us yet!

My prayer for you today is, “Heavenly Father, we thank you for the finished work of the Cross. Thank you for never giving up on us, seeing the end from the beginning. Thank you for transforming us daily. We recommit our lives to You today, to Your plan and purpose for our lives. In Jesus’ Name. Amen. (Pastor Pattie Eselu)
