IF I WERE THE DEVIL

Today’s Bible Verse

He shall wear out the saints of the most High.

Daniel 7:25a (KJV)

If I Were the Devil

The Bible says that Satan comes as an angel of light. He’s a master deceiver. The Bible says that we should not be ignorant of the devil’s devices. He’s cunning, manipulative, seductive, and deadly. He plays games through the emotions. He will make you believe that you are in control as he slithers his way manipulating people in the palm of his hands.

If I were the devil…I would bring division in the marriage. I would make sure one spouse would take a back seat to the call of God and keep that person lukewarm towards the things of God. The devil doesn’t need to attack two when he can get the weaker one to bring down the other. The devil understands there is power in unity and if both spouses were on the same page and on the same level of commitment, he knows he’s in trouble.

If I were the devil…I would stop people from tithing and receiving their financial breakthrough. I would make sure they have a poverty mentality so they would think small not just in their finances, but in every area of their lives. I would make sure they would not have a spirit of generosity about them that can change the lives of multitudes.

If I were the devil…I would distract and discourage people from having a consistent, intimate, prayer life. I would let them pray for a few minutes a day to give God their wish list but I would distract them from getting into the presence of God and pressing in. A prayerless Christian is a powerless Christian. They have a form of godliness but have no power. Weak Christians poses no threat to the kingdom of darkness.

If I were the devil…I would make them only believe certain things in the Bible. I want them to believe they can love God and love the world’s ways and still be in right standing with God. I want them to believe that their dreams are more important than God’s purposes. I want them to focus so much of gaining the riches of this world that they don’t serve God at all.

If I were the devil…I would keep every Christian in a lukewarm state. Just let them acknowledge God. Don’t need to really worship Him. Don’t need to really pray to Him. Just go to church and listen to the Word. Then go home and do your thing. You do not need to give Jesus your life, just give him one-hundred twenty minutes of your time, on Sundays only, that’s good enough. I would let them live the greatest deception in Christianity.

The devil doesn’t need to defeat you. He just needs to wear you out until you give up the good fight of faith. He’ll lull you to sleep until you compromise your walk with the Lord. He’ll just throw a little deception here and a little there until you believe you are right in following your own ways and not the Lord’s. The devil wants you to lower your standards and start living Christianity on your own terms and not according to God’s will. If I were the devil, that’s an easy play on humanity. An Uncommon Life

Jesus said, “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth” (Revelations 3:15, 16 NIV).

There is one thing I know for sure, just as I am alive today, is that I’ve been born again, Holy Ghost-filled, and fire-baptized, that the devil is defeated and Jesus Christ is Lord! No matter what the devil does, he’s a defeated foe. I didn’t defeat him. My God and my Lord defeated Him on the Cross of Calvary. Jesus stripped Satan of all of his authority and power.

When Jesus died, I died with Him. When He was buried, I was buried with Him. When He rose from the dead, I rose together with Him. When God seated Him at His right hand I was seated together with Him. I am no longer my own. I’ve been purchased with a price so precious, that it took the sinless, spotless blood of the Lamb of God to redeem me.

If no devil in hell can take away what God has come to give us, why do so many Christians compromise with their flesh and the devil? It’s time to settle it and live the uncommon life that Christ came to give. If I were the devil, I would not mess around with a person that is anointed, appointed and unashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Today’s Declaration

Heavenly Father, please forgive me if I bought into the schemes of the devil. Forgive me if I have compromised my lifestyle because it was more comfortable living my life than the life that You have set before me. I’m going to settle it today. I’m going back to the Cross. I’m going to live my life according to Your Word. I’m not going to pick and choose how I will live for You. I’m committing my life to You for Your glory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
