JESUS CHRIST: LOVING, COMPASSIONATE SAVIOR

Today’s Bible Verse

Jesus traveled throughout the region of Galilee, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness. News about him spread as far as Syria, and people soon began bringing to him all who were sick. And whatever their sickness or disease, or if they were demon possessed or epileptic or paralyzed—He healed them all.

Matthew 4:23-24 (NLT)

Jesus Christ: Loving, Compassionate Savior

Jesus healed them all!  There is no question about God’s love or His desire for us to live in freedom, set free from the tyrannical power of the enemy.  Yes, He’s given us the key (faith in God’s Word, Jesus) to live a victorious life!  God’s Word reminds us: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).  In other words, God’s plan of redemption, restoration, healing, and deliverance is still the same today!

Throughout the Word of God, He’s given us scriptures regarding His will for healing and deliverance: “He saved them out of their distresses.  He sent His Word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions” (Psalm 107:19b-20).

In our current series, “God’s Not Finished,” Pastor Art has been sharing powerful truths about God’s love for humanity, and he’s addressing questions people have asked when going through a valley or a difficult situation.  I’ve heard many people with good intentions say: “God’s testing you to see if you’ll remain faithful,” or “He’s trying to make you stronger through this situation.”

Imagine someone you love immensely is going through a tremendous amount of pain, agony, and suffering; they’re tormented with affliction.  You have the cure that will not only heal them; the cure would restore them to a better condition than the condition they were in before the physical attack happened.  Would you withhold the cure from the one you love?  In Matthew 7, Jesus shared with those who followed Him: “If you then being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!”

God does not go back on His Word.  His Word says He sent His Word to heal us and deliver us from all destruction!  The enemy is the one who introduced sin into this world.  There are different reasons someone may experience a physical attack; however, sin is ultimately the root cause of sickness and disease.  If sickness entered into the world because of sin, why would God use sickness to “teach” someone He loves?  Why would God put sickness and disease on someone only to give them divine healing?

In Matthew 12:24, the Pharisees were accusing Jesus of casting out demons by the power of Beelzebub, the ruler of demons.  In other words, they were saying that Jesus was working with the devil.  Jesus’ response to their foolish accusation was profound.  Jesus explained, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand” (v.25).  So, how can the divine healer, the One who healed all who were afflicted, also inflict sickness and disease?  In verse 30, Jesus goes on to say, “He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.”  (Rachel Wela)

Change My Story

Throughout Jesus’s ministry, He went about healing the sick, cleansing the lepers, casting out demons, raising the dead, delivering the oppressed, and setting the captives free.  Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever!  Remember, God is not the one who inflicts tragedies; that’s the work of the enemy (John 10:10).  Have you accepted wrong thoughts about God?  Are there wrong mindsets you’ve accepted?  Decide today to renew your mind in the Word and uproot every wrong thought and every vain imagination (internal arguments).

Today’s Declaration

Thank You, Jesus!  My Healer, my Deliverer, my Redeemer, my Restorer, and my Savior!  That is who You are!  I am the healed of the Lord.  I am victorious.  I am more than a conqueror.  I am an overcomer because that’s what Your Word says I am!  I believe it; I declare it; I receive it!  In Jesus’ Name!
