JESUS PAID THE FULL PRICE, ONCE AND FOR ALL

Yet, Christ paid the full price to set us free from the curse of the law. He absorbed it completely as he became a curse in our place. For it is written: “Everyone who is hung upon a tree is doubly cursed.”

Galatians 3:13 (TPT)

What a powerful truth! Jesus paid the full price to set us free from the curse! Verse 14 in Galatians 3 (TPT) goes on to say: “Jesus, our Messiah, was cursed in our place and in so doing, dissolved the curse from our lives, so that all the blessings of Abraham can be poured out upon even non-Jewish believers. And now God gives us the promise of the wonderful Holy Spirit who lives within us when we believe in him.” The Holy Spirit is the one who gives us the revelation and the knowledge of who Christ is, and every spiritual blessing we have been given, in Him! In Galatians 3, Paul was talking to the church of Galatia, he was firmly correcting them because there were some false teachers, caught up with religious practices and salvation through legalism, not by the grace of God.

Paul was very strong in his message to the Galatians because although they had started off firmly relying on the grace of God, in Christ Jesus, they began entertaining the thoughts and teachings of these false teachers. They started listening to these false teachers instead of the gospel. Jesus clearly tells us in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” And in John 6:29, Jesus replied, “This is the work of God – that you believe in the one He sent.” Our work is to believe!

Believe! We’re commanded to believe in Jesus, the one whom God has sent! That’s the work we’re called to do, believe! As easy as it sounds, not many experience the fullness of God’s promises, God’s grace and mercy. Why is that? We all know, the opposite of belief is disbelief. Disbelief is simply, a lack of faith. But how is disbelief sown in our hearts? The same way FAITH is sown in our hearts; what is sown through our eye gates and our ear gates. Not everything sown in our hearts is from God (Matthew 13:25). Just like the parable of the wheat and the tares, are we allowing tares to be sown with the good seed (the WORD of God) by the things we allow into our eye gates and our ear gates? Everything not planted by God must be uprooted! Any thought that speaks contrary to the word (what God says for us to believe, in Jesus) must be uprooted from our hearts. Decide today, you will not allow anything into your heart that speaks contrary to what Jesus has already done for you!

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
Jesus told us, in John 14:12: “I tell you this timeless truth: The person who follows me in faith, believing in me, will do the same mighty miracles that I do—even greater miracles than these because I go to be with my Father!” Jesus is the perfect example to live by. What He did in His 3 1/2 years of ministry here on earth is what we’re called to walk in. And we’re called to walk in the freedom He has given us. Everything Jesus did was because of His love, as we live in Him and allow His love to flow through us, miracles flow through us! 1 John 4:17 says: “This love is fulfilled with us, so that on the day of judgment we have confidence based on our identification with Jesus in this world.” As Jesus was in this world, so are we! As Jesus went about teaching (we are to go about teaching), miracles signs and wonders followed. In Jesus, we must believe and expect the same, miracles signs and wonders! That’s the manifested power of God for those who reign in Freedom, in Christ Jesus! (Rachel Wela)
