LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED

Today’s Bible Verse

“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]”

John 16:33 (AMPC)

Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled

In the midst of the chaos and confusion, conflicts and contentions, that COVID-19 has caused locally and globally, we are reminded of what Jesus said: “Let not your heart be troubled for I have (past tense) overcome the world.” Here are some important things to do to self-quarantine yourself spiritually:

FIRST…Look Upward. Always keep your eyes on Jesus. Hebrews 11:2 (NKJV) states, “…looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith…

SECOND…Look Inward. Always take heed to your spiritual well-being. Keep feeding on the Word. 1 Timothy 4:16 tells us to, “Pay close attention to yourself [concentrate on your personal development] and to your teaching; persevere in these things [hold to them]…”

THIRD…Look Outward. Be a blessing to someone. Make a phone call to a friend, relative coworker or someone you haven’t seen in a while. A word of encouragement is oxygen to the soul. Ephesians 4:32 (AMPC) tells us to, “…become useful and helpful and kind to one another, tenderhearted (compassionate, understanding, loving-hearted)…”

FOURTH…Look Forward. Always remember to keep moving forward by faith regardless of what’s going on around you. Philippians 3:13-14 (NKJV) says, “…but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

Something To Think About

Through this very challenging time, I have chosen to apply these principles to my life to help me in order to help others. My family and I have been continuing to sow our time into the Word and prayer and releasing our faith and the love of God to others. God has been moving on my heart to reach out to those who may be having a more difficult time and to those I haven’t been in touch with for a while to offer hope, a prayer, or a helping hand. It has blessed me to see their faces and hear their voices when we communicate. This is our time to “seize the moment” and continue to be the light to our world. (Pastor Chauncey Pang)

Today’s Declaration

I will look up. I will look inward. I will look outward and I will look forward because Jesus is Lord!
