LET PERFECT PEACE RULE AND REIGN

“You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant PEACE whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You”

Isaiah 26:3 (AMPC)

God’s PEACE is what we receive when we ask Jesus into our hearts as our Lord and Savior. When we are born-again, we receive the PRINCE OF PEACE, and He lives in our hearts! The world cannot give us God’s PEACE (John 14:27). It’s not a PEACE that is based on circumstances. It’s a PEACE that is made real to us as we live our lives committed to trusting Jesus!

If the world – which is based on circumstances – did not give us God’s PEACE, then the circumstances of this world cannot take God’s PEACE from us…unless we allow them to! We have to purpose in our hearts and minds to give our attention to the goodness of God though His Word. We must deliberately decide not to receive anxiety or worry. We must let PEACE rule and reign over our lives! Philippians 4:6-7 TPT says: “Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful PEACE that transcends human understanding, will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ.”

It’s up to us to receive and walk in God’s PEACE. We must allow that PEACE to embrace our hearts and minds. We have to give everything to God through prayer, as we declare God’s promises over everything we are facing in life. We must trust and believe by faith that everything God has promised to us through His Word, He will bring to pass in our lives. We have to choose to walk in God’s PEACE.

Philippians 4:8 TPT says: “So keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always.” We must fill our minds with God’s Word and have thoughts that will glorify God. We have to overtake the thoughts of worry and fear with God’s Word of truth!

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
Our granddaughter Isabella was diagnosed with leukemia when she was just two years old. News of that report was understandably earth-shattering to our entire family. Anxiety, fear and worry tried to overtake us all. However, God had encouraged us to give the situation to Him. He encouraged us to give our attention to His Word. He said, “I will keep you in My PERFECT PEACE as your mind is stayed on Me and you trust in Me.”

God was helping us to see that His PEACE would keep us stable as we placed our trust in Him. We needed to look at what He had already promised for our Isabella. “By His stripes she was healed!” (1 Peter 2:24) We had to place our trust in His Word of truth. The Lord showed us that our trust in His Word would settle His PEACE in our hearts and minds. He showed us that HIS PEACE for us was directly correlated to our trust in Him! He was faithful to stabilize and protect us as though we were in a military garrison whose walls on all sides were built by His PEACE! (Philippians 4:7 AMPC)

Isabella overcame the diagnosis, and she is the healed of the Lord! She is 15 years old now and a Life Group Leader. She is a walking miracle and a great blessing to our family. She is learning for herself to walk in God’s PEACE, as she continues to place her trust in Jesus and live by His Word. She’s also sharing these principles with her young Life Group attendees, and God is helping them all to trust Jesus with their lives. (Pastor Kuna Sepulveda)
