LIVING FREE IN GOD’S LOVE

Today’s Bible Verse

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

John 3:16

Living Free in God’s Love

The threats that people are hearing about today in the news is due to a demonic spirit called, FEAR. We as believers need to understand that fear is a spirit. It’s not an emotion. It’s a demonic force. The Bible says that our wrestle (stress) is not against natural things (flesh and blood), but against a spiritual host of wickedness in heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). That wickedness is FEAR and it’s out to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). BUT GOD has not given us that spirit. Instead He has given us power, love and a sound mind.

How do we overcome that spirit of fear? We choose love over fear by accepting the love that Jesus has for us. His love was demonstrated at the Cross of Calvary and by accepting and meditating on God’s love for us, we’re choosing love over fear. We must shut the door to the fear and open our hearts to the love that God has already shown towards us.

1 John 4:19 says, “There is no fear in love [dread does not exist], but full-grown (complete, perfect) love turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear brings with it the thought of punishment, and [so] he who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love [is not yet grown into love’s complete perfection].”

Something to Think About

When we receive the love God has for us, we start to mature in that love, and we can then share that love with a hurting world around us. It’s been said that you can’t give what you don’t have. Let’s allow God to develop us into maturity today and shut the door to all fear. Let’s put it far behind us and accept the complete love He has given to us, “When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me” (1 Corinthians 13:11). (Deneen Quartero)

Today’s Declaration

For God so loved me that He gave His one and only Son, that as I believe in Him, I shall not perish but have eternal life.
