LOVE HIS PRESENCE

Today’s Bible Verse

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]. I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!

Psalm 91:1-2 (AMPC)

Love His Presence

It is very possible to remain steadfast in the middle of a storm. A believer with a strong spirit can be unmovable in the midst of trouble. To some, this is unimaginable because their emotions and circumstances rule over their minds. Their feelings are the only reality they know. But God says, there is a way out: “if you spend time in the secret place with me, you will be stable and fixed in the time of adversity.” The key to standing where many fall is to spend time in the secret place, His presence.

The enemy is well aware of this and has created endless distractions to keep us away from the presence of God. From television to social media, the world continues to lull the church away from His presence. (Pastor Lilly Montano, Word of Life Santa Barbara)

Change My Story

The strength that we need is only found in the secret place. Serving is awesome; helping others is amazing; being involved in God’s house, a blessing. But none of those things should ever replace spending time in the secret place. I heard Pastor Art once say, “if you don’t learn to fight for that time alone with God, soon you’ll be weak and feeble; that’s your first battle.” And it is so true. In His presence, we find fullness of joy; that’s our “happy place.”

Perhaps you’ve not been consistent in your time alone with God. Today I want to encourage you; let’s make a change! Decide that from this day forward, things are going to be different! Make whatever adjustment necessary; fight for that time alone with God.

Today’s Declaration

Father, in Jesus’ Name, today I ask You to impart a new and fresh longing for Your presence in me. I want to desire You more than the food that I eat and the air that I breathe. Lord, today, I repent for my inconsistency and passivity; please forgive me. I want more of You, and I declare that starting today, time in Your presence will be my number one priority in Jesus’ Name! Amen!
