MAKE HIM OUR VITAL NEED

“If you seek Him [inquiring for and of Him and requiring Him as your first and vital necessity] you will find Him…”

1 Chronicles 28:9 (AMPC)

God longs for each us to go back to the start. And what that means is going back to His heart, back to His love. It’s there where we find all that we need. It’s there that we are given the peace, the guidance, the direction, the joy and the strength that we need. It’s there where transformation takes place.

The Bible shares of one man who understood this and who was the only person described as “the man after God’s own heart”, David. David was known as a man of conquest, a good leader, a brave warrior, and a great king. Yet, it was in the Secret Place (God’s Presence) where David’s heart connected to God’s heart. It was there in the Secret Place where the counsel, the wisdom, the guidance, the direction, the peace, the strength and the answers were given. It was there where David was formed, molded and transformed. In the Secret Place is where David’s heart connected to God and where he captured the heart of God.

God is longing for our hearts. He wants to lead and guide us to a life He has purposed us to live. It’s easy for us to become busy, distracted, complacent, worried and fearful. Yet, when we choose to seek Him and His Presence, we will not only find Him but we will also find what we need. When we make it our vital need to go to the Secret Place and seek Him (go after God) and open our hearts before Him, that is when our lives will be transformed. In that place God will open our eyes, our heart and our mind to a life with Him. His heart’s desire is for each of us to live for Him. This requires us going after Him. He knows exactly where we are but He loves us too much to leave us there.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
This year God has been taking me back to the start in many ways, especially in understanding the importance of seeking Him as my vital need. Many times we don’t realize what we really need until we really need it. Even when we think we’ve reached a place we were meant to get to, there is more. Seeking God as our vital need means surrendering to Him.

He has uniquely designed each of us to conquer everything that is set before us. It’s found first and foremost in our surrender. It’s in the letting go of all the mindsets, weights and circumstances and then trusting God with it all. It’s seeking Him to find Him and with Him we have all that we need. I encourage you today, take some time to go to your Secret Place and seek after God with all your heart. There in His Presence, lay it all out, surrender it all, pour out your heart and allow God to fill you up with all you need. Open your heart and allow God to take you back to the start, back to His heart today. (Nicole Silva)
