MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

This Week’s Memory Verse

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations [help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words], baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 28:19 (AMP)

Mission Accomplished

Hey Kids!

Did you know that Elijah, our superhero this month did not die?  Yeah, the Bible says that he went straight to heaven!  He went to Heaven in a whirlwind like a tornado…. He spinned upward to Heaven!  Wow, how cool is that?

Elijah was faithful to God from the beginning of his life on earth till the end.  He never stopped believing in God or in what God said.  No matter how hard things got, he never gave up on serving God and living his life the way God assigned Him to live!  Elijah was given a God mission and he nailed it!

It wasn’t always easy for Elijah but he listened and obeyed God.  He made mistakes but he did not give up in believing God.  He stayed close to God and God gave him the strength to keep on going even when it seemed like it was too hard.

God gave you a special mission too!  Yes, that’s right!  God picked you out of thousands, no millions, more like trillions of people to do a special mission for Him!!  Your life has a purpose while you are here on earth.  When God gives you something it never changes or goes away!  It’s for only you to accomplish.

This mission is so important that it means life or death to a person.  This person could be someone very important to you like your best friend, or your mom and dad, or even your grandma and grandpa.

God showed us through Elijah’s example that you can finish the mission God gave to you.  What’s the mission?  It is to help make God’s dream come true.  You might be thinking, “Me make God’s dream come true?  I’m just a kid!!”  Yup, God did not make a mistake picking you!  He’s not looking at you and what you can do.  God looks at His power and what amazing things can happen when His power works in you and through you.  He will give you the power to accomplish all that He ask you to do.

Are you ready to know what is God’s dream?  It is that all people will come to know God as their Lord and Savior. Your mission is simple……. It’s a special mission to go and tell everyone the Good News that God loves them so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus to die for them on the cross and He rose from the dead.  And now, they can ask Jesus in their heart and life and their sins will be forgiven.  Share the Good News that God can heal them and help them and give them hope, peace, and joy!  Tell them the Good News of all the things he has done for you, your family, and others!

You are God’s Special Agent!  Wow!  What an honor!  This special mission is more important than anything in the whole wide world!

All you need is to be willing and brave, and God will do the rest!

Here’s a prayer that you can share with others to pray with you!

Jesus, come into my life and heart.  I ask you to be my Lord and my Savior.  I believe that you died on the cross for me and rose from the dead.  Forgive me of all my sins, mistakes, and wrong things I have done.  Thank you for accepting me as your child and giving me new life.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

This Week’s Pledge of Honor

Telling the Good News is my mission–something I must do. For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.

This Week’s Bible Reading

Romans 10:14-15 (ERV)

But before people can pray to the Lord for help, they must believe in him. And before they can believe in the Lord, they must hear about him. And for anyone to hear about the Lord, someone must tell them. And before anyone can go and tell them, they must be sent. As the Scriptures say, “How wonderful it is to see someone coming to tell good news!”

ISAIAH 61:1 (ICB)

The Lord God has put his Spirit in me. This is because he has appointed me to tell the good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort those whose hearts are broken. He has sent me to tell the captives they are free. He has sent me to tell the prisoners that they are released.

Joshua 1:6-9 (ICB)

“Joshua, be strong and brave! You must lead these people so they can take their land. This is the land I promised their fathers I would give them. Be strong and brave. Be sure to obey all the teachings my servant Moses gave you. If you follow them exactly, you will be successful in everything you do. Always remember what is written in the Book of the Teachings. Study it day and night. Then you will be sure to obey everything that is written there. If you do this, you will be wise and successful in everything.  Remember that I commanded you to be strong and brave. So don’t be afraid. The Lord your God will be with you everywhere you go.”

Romans 1:15-17 (ICB)

I am not ashamed of the Good News. It is the power God uses to save everyone who believes—
