NEEDS OR FAITH: WHICH DOES GOD RESPOND TO?

Today’s Bible Verse

He told them, “It was because of your lack of faith. I promise you, if you have faith inside of you no bigger than the size of a small mustard seed you can say to this mountain, ‘Move away from here and go over there,’ and you will see it move! There is nothing you couldn’t do!”

Matthew 17:20 (TPT)

Needs or Faith: Which Does God Respond To?

Sometimes we get confused or upset with God because we come to Him through prayer in a time of desperate need, and our prayers go unanswered. You might ask yourself, “How could this happen if we serve a good God who wants to bless us?” While we serve a God who wants to bless us, it doesn’t mean that God will automatically say yes to our prayers because we have a need. God requires our faith to be activated for our prayers to be answered.

Here are a few examples of Jesus’ response to faith:

In Mark 5:34, Jesus told the woman with the issue of blood, “Daughter, because you dared to believe, your faith has healed you.”

In Mark 10:52, when Jesus healed the blind beggar, he said, “Your faith heals you. Go in peace, with your sight restored.”

In Luke 17:19, when Jesus healed the 10 lepers, only one came back to thank Jesus, and He said, “Arise and go. It was your faith that brought you salvation and healing.”

In each of these stories, it was faith that God responded to, not the person’s need.  If God responded to the need, He would’ve healed them before they even came to Him. (Nicole Farmer)

Change My Story

The awesome news is we have all been given a measure of faith the size of a mustard seed. A mustard seed is the smallest of all seeds, but they are the largest of garden plants, growing into a tree. Although our faith may be the size of a mustard seed today, each step of faith causes our faith to continuously grow with the potential of great growth. God is waiting on the activation of our faith. Our faith will grow as it feeds on the truth of the Word of God.

Today’s Declaration

Today, I choose to activate the mustard seed of faith that I have been given through the spiritual truth that I feed on in the Bible. I thank you, Lord, for the seed of faith that you have deposited on the inside of me.
