PETER WALKED ON WATER

This Week’s Memory Verse

Peter Walked on the Water Toward Jesus

Matthew 14:29b (NLT)

Peter Walked On Water

Hey Kids!

Is it for real that Peter walked on water?  Yup, he really did until he started to be afraid.  Yeah, when Peter saw the giant waves and winds so strong that it could blow him away, he sank!  Yikes!  He believed more in the power in the waves and wind than in the power of God! God gave Peter faith to do the impossible.  But Peter opened the door to fear to come into his heart.  So, instead of going closer to Jesus, Peter sank, and he could not get to Jesus.

You know like when some of you around your friends and they don’t believe that Jesus is cool like you do.  You even heard them talk bad about a kid that read the Bible and go to church!  So, like Peter you open the door to fear.  You are afraid that your friends will not hang out with you.  You lose your voice and courage to tell them about Jesus.  Fear took away your courage to do something for your friends to come to Jesus.

Did you ever had an awesome idea or a great solution, but you don’t tell anyone because you are afraid what people will say about it?  Or have you ever wanted to join a team like sports, dance, cheerleading, robotics, gaming, or any kind of team but you are afraid the kids will laugh at you?

You have a choice to let fear control your life or stop it.  You have the power to tell it to get out of our life.  Or you can let it stay.  Which one will you decide to do?

Fear is not from God and will destroy your faith in God.  It will even take you away from God and his plans for you!  Be courageous and fearless and stand up against fear.  As soon as you feel fear rise up within you, tell it to get out of your thoughts and your life.  Don’t let it stay with you one second!

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, thank You for not giving me a spirit of fear!  You have given me a spirit of power, love, and self-control.  In Jesus’ Name. Amen!

This Week’s Pledge of Honor

I will not fear.  If fear rises up in me, I will not let it stay one second.  I will use the power God gave me in my voice to command fear to get out of my life.  I am courageous.  I have decided to believe and trust God and in His power no matter happens around me.

This Week’s Bible Reading

2 Timothy 1:7 (ICB)

God did not give us a spirit that makes us afraid. He gave us a spirit of power and love and self-control.

Mark 11:22-24 (ICB)

Jesus answered, “Have faith in God. I tell you the truth. You can say to this mountain, ‘Go, mountain, fall into the sea.’ And if you have no doubts in your mind and believe that the thing you say will happen, then God will do it for you. So I tell you to ask for things in prayer. And if you believe that you have received those things, then they will be yours.
