“I said, ‘Plow new ground for yourselves, plant righteousness, and reap the blessings that your devotion to Me will produce…'”

Hosea 10:12a (GNT)

God wants to do something new in our lives daily – as His love for us never ceases and His mercies are renewed every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). He wants us to experience newness of life in His Presence and from His Word. He wants to bless us- as we remain open to Him and allow the process He has for us to be worked on daily. It’s a process of staying devoted to Him: to His Word and the leadership of the Holy Spirit. He wants us to flourish!

“IT’S TIME TO FLOURISH” is not just the theme of our upcoming DEVOTED Conference, it’s what God wants to do in and through our lives. He wants us to FLOURISH!

To “Flourish” is to grow, prosper, blossom, develop, do well, expand, multiply, succeed, thrive, increase, and bear fruit! This is what God wants for us in every area of our lives! Hosea 10:12 shows us how to FLOURISH:

1 – PLOW NEW GROUND FOR YOURSELVES.

To PLOW means to dig up ground for cultivation; bulldoze, cultivate, or break ground.

We have to be deliberate and decide to PLOW, “break ground” in our lives in order to let the new things we want planted to be given an opportunity to flourish.

  • The ground that we need to break through is our hearts.
  • We need our hearts to be open to what God wants to plant in our lives.
  • Our hearts are the ground that produces the life of God (Mark 4:14-20).
  • We have to guard our hearts because it’s from our hearts that we flourish (Prov 4:23).
  • Our hearts need to be the “good ground” that are open to receive God’s unfailing Word into our lives and hold on to His promises no matter what (Luke 8:15 MSG).
  • Our hearts need to be open and willing to go after all the new things He has in store for us that’s promised in His Word.
  • We have to be humble and press in for what God has for us!

2 – PLANT RIGHTEOUSNESS.

To PLANT is to put in the ground for growing. We have to be the ones sowing, scattering, letting start, setting out after the Word of God to be PLANTED in our hearts. God’s righteousness is His Word planted in our hearts. It’s His way of doing and being right! His ways and thoughts are higher (Isaiah 55:8).

Matthew 6:33 (AMPC), “But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and HIS RIGHTEOUNESS (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.” God’s righteousness is based on Who He is, and what He’s given us through His Son, Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21). We are righteous through Christ.

  • God’s righteousness is based on Who He is and what He’s given us through His Son Jesus. We are righteous through Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21).
  • In and through our relationship with God, we are being asked to put first His Kingdom: His plan and purpose, and His righteousness – which is His way of doing life and being right. In other words, it’s His way, His plans and His purposes that we are to live by. Not our will, but His will!

3 – REAP THE BLESSINGS YOUR DEVOTION TO ME WILL PRODUCE.

To REAP is to collect, harvest; bring in, gain, obtain, produce, receive, acquire, gather, profit, secure, win, get as a result.

  • We will experience all the blessings God has for us and our families through our devotion to Him!
  • In our time in The Secret Place, and our open hearts to the Holy Spirit- our SURRENDER to Him will set us up for the AMAZING BLESSINGS He has in store for us and our families!

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
This past year has been a time of PLOWING NEW GROUND – being in The Secret Place. It’s there that The Holy Spirit has shown me the areas that I need to get out of my life! I’ve been PLOWING in the deep areas of my life – in the deep areas of my heart that were hindering me from the NEW things God has in store for me. The Holy Spirit has helped me to plow and dig out the fear, worries, comparisons, anxieties, lack of trust, doubts, and taking matters into my own hands to name just a few. Being in His presence and keeping His Word as my final authority has kept my heart settled on His way of doing and being right. I’m experiencing His breakthroughs and blessings. My devotion to Him – in The Secret Place is making the difference!

As a classic song that I love says, “I will linger, I will stay in His Presence day by day, ‘til His likeness may be seen in me!” (Pastor Kuna Sepulveda)
