Preach the Jesus of the Bible

The Apostle Paul who was overseeing the churches started to warn them about some false teachers and their teachings that were creeping into the church.  These false teachers were contaminating the faith of the Churches in Galatia, Rome and especially in Corinth. Paul knew that the Corinthians were too susceptible to these false teaching and it will cause them to drift in their faith but not realize it.  His concern was that their itching ears wanting to hear something new other than the gospel could negatively cause them to depart from the truth.

One thing is clear to Paul about these false teachers — that is their Jesus was not his Jesus.  If Churches not careful, these false teachers will introduce “another Jesus” that was not of scriptures. Opening up the door to “another spirit” that’s not the Holy Spirit.  Causing many to preach “another gospel” contrary to the true Gospel.

Paul sensed that it was crucial for the Church not miss it. He charged them to preach Jesus of the scriptures whom he preached that is perfect and who is able to save. Teach about the Holy Spirit which he taught that is perfect and empowering. Preach the gospel which he preached which was incorruptible and forever settled in heaven. Preserve these truths and that any changes to it would deviate from its power and weaken its effectiveness. (Pastor Fika Esau)

An Uncommon Life

We need to Keep Jesus Christ at the Center of it all and never deviate from it.  Remove Jesus and it’s a downhill slide from there.  “Another Jesus” leads to “another spirit” and ends up with a “different Gospel.” Remove Jesus Christ and His teachings and everything will crumble.

Remember, Paul wrote, “having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone” (Ephesians 2:20).

Today some Churches in the name of being culturally relevant is not preaching the full gospel. The pulpit is not preaching repentance and holiness because it could offend people.  Preachers are now called speakers reliant more on their gift of gab and oratory skills rather than on the power of the scriptures and fire of the Holy Spirit to show up. Many are preaching feel good sermons but no anointing to confront sin, lawlessness & worldliness that comes with no fear of God.  To some praise and worship is more about self, emotions and performance rather than honor and touching the heart of God. They will never mention the blood because it’s too messy and not the Holy Ghost because it will spook many.  The Masters Commission has become a suggestion because winning souls is too burdensome and making disciples is too hard is their mindset. They would rather reject the way of Christ so they can gain popularity from the world.  “Another Jesus” leads to “another spirit” and ends up with a “different Gospel.”

Therefore we, need to Preach the Real Jesus of the Bible and nothing less.  Preach Jesus Christ – He is the “Christ” the “Anointed One and His Anointing” Preach that He is God who became human flesh (John 1:1-4,14) to redeem humanity. He was born of a Virgin and God’s one and only Begotten Son.  He is our Messiah and the only one who can save us from our sins.  He is the Way, the Truth, and Life.  Preach He is our resurrected King.  Salvation and eternal life comes only through Him and Him alone by grace through faith. “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). Jesus who says go into the Word and Preach the Gospel and Make Disciples. Heal the sick – cast out demons and set the captives free.

Preach this Jesus and you will be sharing the fullness of the gospel with the power of the Holy Spirit always.

Today’s Declaration

I declare that Jesus Christ of the Bible is the Way, the Truth, and the Life and there are no other gods before Him.  Jesus Christ is the Chief Cornerstone of my Faith Life.  I will not give way to any false teachers who preach any other gospel or open any door for other spirits that don’t line up with the Bible.  I am rooted in the Word of Truth and will not be easily moved away from the hope of the Gospel in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
