“It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly.”

1 Corinthians 13:5a (AMPC)

SELF-IMAGE… “Win the game because losing is a reflection of me.”

ENTITLEMENT… “I pay the bills around here, so if you don’t like what I’m saying, get out.”

PEOPLE-PLEASING… “If I tell people the truth, what will they think of me?”

BLAMING… “I cheated on my spouse because he/she wasn’t spending enough time with me.”

NEVER SATISFIED… “I need the 2020 model, the 2018 one is old.”

INDEPENDENT… “I’m self-made; I got myself here.”

HOLDING GRUDGES… “I forgive you, but I’ll never forget.”

INSECURITY… “If I don’t raise my voice and curse, they won’t take me seriously.”

Have you ever made these statements? Sure, you have. We all have. Because before we were born-again and made into the image of Christ, we lived in our old sin-nature which was filled with arrogance, pride, rude, unmannerly or unbecoming behavior. The question is…after being born-again, do you still make those statements? If so, NO MORE EXCUSES!!! Today is the day that we are going to expose the spirit of pride in our lives and conquer this mountain once and for all.

Pride is a subtle spirit that you don’t realize you are carrying until, you wake up one day and realize your spouse has left you, your children resent you, you’re mile-high in debt, your family doesn’t trust you, you get drunk every night to numb the pain and the list goes on and on. TODAY we will conquer that mountain of pride by speaking TO IT (not about it), with NO doubting and telling pride where to go according to Mark 11:23:

“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
Pride was the silent killer in my household. It made statements like, “Don’t ever let a man run your life”, or “If they don’t listen, make them listen”, or “If you’re not going to do what I want, then get out”, seem like typical-life statements. When things weren’t going my way, I would yell at my kids, kick my husband out of the house, or not come home. I could go weeks giving the silent treatment.

One day, while in my devotions, God showed me when I gave my life to Him, I also gave up my rights to control situations around me. Prior to being born-again, I was fine operating in pride and everyone around me just seemed to accept it but once I received Jesus, yelling, threatening, ultimatums and “cry baby action” as I like to say, was something that was just getting old. My family wasn’t “tolerating” it anymore, and it didn’t seem to give me the same satisfying feeling as it used to.

God showed me that I was a new creation in Christ, but I was still living in my old sinful nature. My spirit and soul were clashing, and life was coming down hard. The Lord told me, “Why are you doing this? You are hurting everyone around you. Pride is not your protector, I am. Be secure in Me, trust Me, rely and lean on Me.” From that moment, the consequence of pride was revealed, and the devil was exposed. So, without doubting, I cast the mountain of pride into the sea!! Let’s get pride out of our lives TODAY!!! (Samantha DeCorte)

TODAY’S DECLARATION
“Lord, according to Mark 11:23, I speak to the mountain of pride in my life and I command pride to be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea. I do not doubt in my heart that those things which I have said will be done and IT IS DONE. Today, I no longer carry a spirit of pride but the love of God which consumes every part of my soul – my mind, will and emotions. In Jesus name, Amen!”
